Aprops of nothing really. It's just that every time any show at Fox increases viewership or makes a nickel profit we get a new thread here. Just thought I'd remind folks that it's not all milk and honey over in fantasyland.

Thank God Fox tells the truth..............Some people would not know the truth if it knocked them up side their ignorant heads........
Their biggest hit was 'goodwill' but they had revenue hits across the board including a drop in TV revenues from $1.1 billion to $146 million

Fair and balanced. LOL. The genius of Fox is that they have created an alternate reality for their viewers.
I said some years ago that the genius of Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes was to have discovered a niche market in American broadcasting -- half the American people. The reason Fox News has thrived and grown is because it offers a vibrant and honest alternative to those who could not abide yet another day of the news delivered to them beneath layer after layer of often undisguised liberalism.
What Fox did is not just create a venue for alternative opinion. It created an alternate reality.
A few years ago, I was on a radio show with a well-known political reporter who lamented the loss of a pristine past in which the whole country could agree on what the facts were, even if they disagreed on how to interpret and act upon them. All that was gone now. The country had become so fractured we couldn't even agree on what reality was

Liberals wouldn't know the accounting term "goodwill" if it fell out of the sky and knocked them out of their Obamatic Lockstep. It's an intangible asset, an asset that can't be seen, touched, or physically measured - sort of like those "saved jobs" Obama and his cronies keep touting. Goodwill is generally a sign of growth through acquisitions. NewsCorp is apparently growing...but I wouldn't expect Liberals to know or acknowledge that.

Fox News a Bright Spot in Bleak News Corp. Earnings Report
Quote:
News Corp. reported full year adjusted operating income of $3.6 billion, a 32.5% fiscal-year drop. For Q4, the media conglomerate posted a loss of $203 million, compared with earnings of $1.1 billion a year ago.
Chairman Rupert Murdoch singled out the success of Fox News Channel in his release:
The FOX News Channel (FNC) operating income, as compared to the prior year, increased 50% for both the fourth quarter and the full year, primarily from increased affiliate revenues. For the full year, FNC primetime ratings were up 45% compared with the same period a year ago.
Fox News continues to crush CNN and MSNBC in the ratings.
Media outlets, print and airwaves, have been losing money b/c advertisers have cut back. Newspapers have folded in the last year - many national, well-recognized pubs are now gone and more are in bankruptcy or verging on it.
This is not something that only one news channel is dealing with.
Sadly, the economic situation this country is in has severely impacted (and in some situations, crippled) magazines, newspapers, radio and tv.
