What do you want to know?

Do I think Medicare should be left as is?

No.

Please, I BEG YOU, wrest it back! I am not so foolish as to believe we don't need real balance in our politics. Please!

I implore you to think on this again. They have been whipped up into this mad frenzy by pundits. The operative words in your own post are "they think". They're being manipulated by a very savvy political machine with a long history of this tactic. And when they don't even try to deny it, such as in the quotes provided in the OP, we're simply asking you to see the truth in it with your own eyes. They're outright telling you that fear and anger are going to benefit them politically. Not solutions or ideas. Fear and anger.

That's what Im asking in the OP, Jadex. Obama's platform was chock full of ideas and plans for turning this country around in a positive, healthy direction (still available to see at whitehouse.gov), though right now we're sidetracked by the fin crisis; what do the Rs suggest? NOTHING. They just want to exploit your fear and anger so they can get back into power.

Although RNC Chairman Michael Steele yesterday tried to distance the Republican Party from the angry protests at town hall meetings around the country, Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) is excited about them. According to The Hill, Cornyn believes that the “fear” and “anger” of Americans will be an advantage for Republicans in the 2010 elections:
“No one would have ever thought six months ago we would be where we are today. I see real opportunities for us,” Cornyn said at a meeting with reporters. “2010 did not look like it was going to be a particularly friendly year for us.”
The GOP seems to be more excited at the prospect of health care and economic reforms failing so that they use them for electoral gains than at these problems actually being solved. Just last month, Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) said that if the GOP could “stall” or “block” health care reform, it would be a “huge gain” for Republicans in 2010.

and of course dont forget Sen deMint's infamous "If we’re able to stop Obama on this it will be his Waterloo. It will break him." - Health reform foes plan Obama's 'Waterloo' - Ben Smith - POLITICO.com

So, right wingers, can it GET any clearer than this? You are being USED. The right wing media mouthpieces are manipulating your emotions for their bosses, who DONT care about your well being and ARENT interested in the United States enough to come up with new ideas, but who only want back into POWER.

Please stop being patsies and start thinking for yourselves.
Are you blind? Your side has used fear and anger incessantly. Why is it bothersome that the other side is doing the same thing? The last think the GOP needs are a bunch of complacent people who are willing to sit back and let Obeyme's socialist regime march forward unopposed.

Let me ask you. Did you have any fear or anger when Bush was in office? Surely not, right?

Today's political games have noting to do with what good for us or our country, it's all about power and control. There needs to be moderate government, if it's too conservative or too liberal the country will tear itself apart. And yes, there does seem to be a growing movement to do just that. I don't WANT to live my life full of fear and anger of what "the other side" is going to try to pull over on me next. This is all so sick and unhealthy and the media plays right into it becasue they have a financial stake in the power. People ARE sheep, no matter how confident we believe we are not.

Lee Atwater
Karl Rove
The Axis of Evil
The War on Terror
Saddam Hussein's coming to get you!

You really think there's ever been a Democratic equivalent to any of the above?

We all had plenty to fear when Bush was in office, especially those of us with sons. You'll notice the Rs were thrown out of Congress like drunks out of a bar in 2006 -- that should give you a little clue as to how the whole country felt about them.

The fact that you're parroting the talking point "Obama is a socialist", not to mention "Obeyme", PROVES that you're not thinking for yourself.

The first and the only thing the GOP needs is complacent people, are you kidding me? You're MADE complacent for this very purpose -- except when your fear and anger are needed of course, so those get tweaked up. And that's what's happening now.
