You thought he was "dancing around" - he was going slowly, trying to make it extremely clear to everyone.

I hope everyone will listen to this.
He was not going slowly. He was rambling.

Yes... Could you imagine Bush taking a TH in NYC or Chicago when all the lies came about on how he took the nation to war?

He never took any questions from anyone that wasn't prescreened. He also would never have called on someone wearing a pin from a liberal leaning group.

saw the whole town hall meeting live and Obama was sharp as a tack on this issue. First of all why are we giving health insurance companies $177 billion dollars a year in subsudies? Cut that out now! Once we leave Iraq there's another $10 billion a month we won't be spending & that alone would cover the costs. The Bush tax cuts will expire next year and that is more revenue so there is enough money to pay for healthcare without raising taxes.

Lie #1:
Yes, he mentioned doing away with Medicare Advantage Plans. Advantage plans are provided by private insurance companies to Medicare recipients. Obama has always said he's not going to cut Medicare benefits but he's lying when he says that. He said Advantage plans don't do anything for the people on Medicare.

Well, I happen to be somewhat familiar with Medicare Advantage plans. They most certainly DO help seniors, and at a very nominal cost (in some areas zero to $100/month).

They cover everything that Medicare covers, but in addition they pay the deductibles, they pay for prescriptions, and they help pay for labs, hospital and outpatient diagnostics. Without the Advantage plan a senior would have to pay 20% of the cost of a procedure such as, for example, an MRI. With the plan, there is a simple co-pay for outpatient diagnostics -- somewhere around $100. That is considerably less than 20% of a charge that varies with each procedure.

So, seniors should all be concerned about Obama having it "in" for Advantage plans.

Obama's lie #2 with respect to the health care plan is "if you like your coverage, you can keep it". In the case of our seniors, that won't be true.
Medicare will change drastically, and their costs will go up dramatically if Obama is successful in killing the Advantage Plans.

And to the OP: The NRA member wasn't "feisty". He was plain talking and direct.

Bozeman/Belgrade, are 2nd most liberal, next to Missoula (#1), in the entire state. .. there are reasons why this particular town hall wasn't presented in Billings, Butte, or Great Falls. Like with George Bush ... and his visit to Great Falls a few years back ... These Presidents will choose a location that's the least likely to produce boos.

If Obama would have said, "Read my lips" (Bush Sr.) well, then all bets would've been off.

As soon as they figure out that this whole thing can't be paid for .. Obama and the Congress, absolutely will, raise taxes on the middle class .. of that .. you can be quite certain.

I agree. They may not call it a "tax", since they like to rename things, but it'll amount to the same thing.
