BTW - "sovereign" American people makes no distinction between race, creed, ethnicity, or other divisive factors that America's enemies have used to destroy us.

My hope is that American people rise up to their lost heritage, and restore their birthright of sovereignty, freedom, natural and personal liberty.

Since she's so hung up on her version of the Constitution and our founding fathers, I guess she wants the following:

--reverting back to horse and buggy transportation
--abolishing electricity and technology
--rescinding voting (and other) rights for women and minorities
--allowing unrestricted abortion until 'quickening' (4th-5th month)
--wearing powdered wigs
--going back to a predominantly rural/agrarian lifestyle
--deference and respect for people in higher positions--of class, trade, and gender (of wives to their husbands)
--slavery
--limiting women's trades to dressmaking, prostitution, and motherhood
--no FDIC protection in banking
--bringing back the duel as a form of conflict resolution

Yes, millions of us voted to oust the authors of the Patriot Act and do exactly as you suggest: acknowledge a heritage that includes everyone who helped the founding fathers achieve their goals, return power to the people instead of lobbyists and the military-industrial complex that Ike feared and warned us against, have the freedom to exercise our right to dissent that the Bush 43 admin squelched, and have the "natural and personal liberty" to be ourselves: women doctors and scientists, gay soldiers, black, Hispanic, Asian, Native Americans enjoying any career or freedom that they have been denied since the American Revolution.

What we are seeing IS democracy! We voted, the dems won. I wish people would shut up and let them do their jobs. I don't mind protesting, but people don't seem to have a clue. If you're going to protest something, at least have a clue what you are talking about!

No offense Mr. Opinion, but the level of education shown in the town hall meeting is sad and below a 1st grade understanding of our nations history. This is not to say every now and then one of the yellers actually has a valid point or concern. However, the ones that are going to town hall meetings yelling about the constitution and Socialism are the stupidest folks. The people that have legitimate health concerns or tax concerns have valid arguments (IMO). It does not mean they are right or wrong just have a valid argument. The individuals spouting out such constitutional rhetoric in most cases, do not even have a basic understanding of the founding or history of this country, so to attempt to quote anything these individuals are saying beyond "Where is the money going to come from" is ridiculous.

Valid concerns in my opinion are

Where is the money going to come from?

What is going to be in the plan?

Is this going to change my current coverage?

Is the government going to now decide whether i live or die OR will private companies still decide whether i live or die?

Is this a good expansion of government into the private lives of citizens???
(i tend to not like it, but we are already paying for it, so maybe there is a better way, but i tend to think there is one that does not involve government)

Go figure

We have never operated under a "true" democracy in this country, so you get my point, when people go to these town forums and say "democracy" is dead, you see how little they actually know about life and the system our country was established upon. We are a republic if we were a democracy we'd have consistent rule by popular vote and we have a lot of things written in our constitution that permits true democracy and still allows for those in the minority to have their opinion voiced and heard without always being overrun by popular vote. Look no further than the electoral college when electing a president. The only reason we have is to ensure that the popular vote does not drown out those in the minority. This is the same reason we have a bicameral Congress. Each state regardless of size gets two Senators and House of Reps are done by size of state. This is not true democracy true democracy is strictly decided by the rule of the majority, we have never had that, and we will never have that etc.

I could go on and on etc

My first reaction to a lot of these town hall people was anger, but seeing how little they know about what is coming out of their mouths, my emotional response has turned to fear, sadness, and an overall lose of words. To see people used, because they are unable to think for themselves is a truly scary and sad state, and we have a large majority of individuals, that are easy as heck to pry upon. It is scary to think how many people know so little about the country they live in and how it was founded.

The left/right dichotomy is a smokescreen, while national socialism incrementally takes over the U.S.A.
If The People are still sovereign, which they are, then socialism is something they want and have wanted since at least 1932, with the first election of Franklin Roosevelt.

Those of you who see creeping socialism as some sort of conspiracy are missing the point. It is not a conspiracy, but the expressed Will of The People. If it were not, they'd have called a halt to it during any one of the 19 Presidential elections and 39 Congressional elections which have been held since 1932.

They have not done so and, in fact, have repeatedly and consistantly elected representatives who promise more of it.

So, if it's what The People want, what's to be done about it? In MHO? Nothing. The People are supreme, even if I don't happen to like what they're doing, and far be it for me to tell them I know more than they do.

If we are of another opinion about socialism, we have the right to make our case and campaign against it. But, the minute we cross the line and begin moving to deny The People their right to decide for themselves, we make ourselves enemies of liberty and the Constitution.

Is Democracy Over in America?
Were you allowed to vote in November 2008? Did you attend the church or place of worship? Did you take your children to school? Did you run to the store, the bank, the laundry? Did you go to the local tavern and have a drink with your friends? Were you able to move freely about and go where you wanted to?
If your answer was yes to all of these, then, democracy is alive and well in America.

Some people start some of the stupidest threads I've ever seen on city data, if for nothing else, to start an argument out of nothing. I see some people who've posted here still have brains, which is more than be said for some.

America has been ruled by the corporations for quite a long time, now.
