big Pharma and other players.

" + title + "

In other words, Obama's big deal with Big Pharma saves $80 billion out of a total $3.6 trillion. That's 2%.
Quote:
Hospitals will be allowed to hike their prices and revenues by six trillion dollars ($5,853 billion) over the next ten years, only $155 billion less than they had projected before the Obama "reform."
Now...what in the world happened to candidate obama's views on big Pharma and hospitals?

Ohhh, we remember his rhetoric about Cheney meeting secretly with oil industry players - isn't this basically the same behavior from obama? Remember his pledge to carry out these "meetings" in the light of day, on CSpan?

So, in return for saving/making big Pharma billions of dollars, he will gain their support, especially in advertising.

I guess a victory for obama means a whole lot more than his promises and rhetoric of candidate obama.

Who cares, as long as we get healthcare reform. It really doesn't make a difference because once we get the reform, then we can start to get what we need from pharma and hospitals. They really have no choice, they know that this deal is better than what would happen to them if they didn't play ball. It worked with the tobacco industry.

You think big Pharm would make such a deal if something was going to be "taken" from them?

Wow.

We are the ones who will be "taken". Orrin Hatch made a deal with them for 12 year exclusive use of their drugs over generic. Normal timespan is 7 years.

Yup..taxpayers are going to the cleaners alright.

Why don't they have a choice? They had one in 1993.

No like the government had a choice. They have no RX coverage for their health care plan if they don't have a deal with the drug companies.

How's about open bidding the way state governments do it ?
Let big pharma compete with each other for the best deal WE CAN GET, not the best deal they can get.
