Now you know you were grinding more than a question or asking for clarification. Don't attempt to spin this one with the usual flipper-flopper stuff. Ah, on second thought, do whatever you want, if at a minimum if could be entertaining.
Why haven't you contributed to the thread in a substantial manner? I've seen you say over and over that you know all there is to know about this topic so maybe you can enlighten us, just a bit.
You made a comment; I asked a question about it, which you have refused to answer. I am not here to enlighten anyone I am just waiting for the history lesson to begin.

Until someone can show a large scale complaint by mountain folk then we can assume that never happened.
I assume you know about the Native American that I spoke of a few posts earlier, hence the comment that you are just waiting for the history lesson to begin. Or could it be that I mistook you again?

That was not my question. Here I'll ask again:
Just like to add that I don't recall those living in Appalachia every complaining in large scale about the attrocities they experienced.
What groups have you heard complaining in large scale about the attrocities they experienced?

What groups have you heard complaining in large scale about the attrocities they experienced? urgh, start maybe healthcare protesters, and then we can work our way back through time...
I'm not speaking about other groups. The topic is focused on mountain folk, largely those in greater Appalachia. I'll refer you back to post number 82.
Why must you change the topic Or maybe it's just that one line that irks you, if so then state your context.

I'm not irked at all -it is simply a question. You stated that you haven't heard them complaining; I thought that statement was a comparsion to other groups and I was curious as to which groups you were referring to that you have heard complaining.
If you were referring to NO groups at all because you've never heard any other group complaining about the attrocities they suffered than it should be a non-issue and you could have said so several posts ago but instead you keep dancing around the question as if you never said it and trying to imply that I am taking your words to some personal level.
As for not speaking about other groups; maybe you should refer to your FIRST post.
The lawless years that comprised the Civil War included men and women who made prey of others. Rural areas of the country were laid to waste as heathens made ruin to the land. Extensive warfare caused a condition where innocent bystanders were slain and tortured. The causes and intent were nothing like the violence in America's cities.
The period was full of those who presented false evidence. Many war crime cases were dismissed when monetary or political favor was bid. Those in the Appalachian Mountains were far from seeing justice brought into town.
Many citizens were highly undereducated and often did not speak English well. The mountain way was to cooperate rather than speak ill or contempt for another. Life was not easy to begin with, often taking generations of failed attempts to provide subsistence in such inhospitable terrain.
During this period the United States Government violated the rights of people who inhabitated the region. Both Southern and Northern emcampments came and went with rape, murder and destruction laid in the wake.
You're biased. You're obviously racist; look at your screen name. Black and proud...why is it okay to be black and proud? Clearly you support double-standards and racism as long as it's in your favor.
I can understand a screen name that indicates a poster's race. I don't understand why it would be necessary to also indicate pride. I would have assumed that. I've never seen any other race do this. Are we to assume that there are many blacks who are embarrassed to be black? I'm not quite sure what we are to assume from blackandproud's proclamation. Perhaps he was once embarrassed to be black and now he is not? I just don't know.

I don't know either; I can't think of any reason why people would have ever felt that being black was something to be embarassed about.
