Now that's entertainment!
Texas has a lot more urban areas compared to Wisconsin, it also has a climate where people can be out and "up to no good" year round. Outside of Milwaukee and Madison most of Wisconsin is farmland that is frozen half of the year, so it's not a fair comparison.

The liberals can have the cops protect them and I will let my .45 caliber handgun protect me. We each have our own way of handling situations and I choose to handle it myself.

And when a man is coming at you with a pipe you can throw your cell phone at him and wait for the cops to arrive. I will send some lead his way and then call the cops. I believe the odds of me getting hurt are much less than yours.

If you have ever had the privledge of being the first person to arrive on the scene of a vicious attack you also might think differently.

Good luck to everyone and I hope noone here ever has to be the victim of a crime that could harm them.

The mayor who says no one needs a gun for protection and wants anyone legally carrying a gun arrested in his city. I wonder if he learned any lessons and if he'll still say "call the police" instead of carry a gun?
The sad part is, the idiot mayor would still advocate this even if he were shot at or one of his family died.

Not necessarily. Anti-gun types usually change their tune when they themselves are threatened. Ask Dianne Feinstein...

Nothing turns a liberal into a conservative faster than having a violent crime committed upon them.

But only a fraction of which the untrained, LONE ( a big factor) civilian makes.
Actually cops, per capita, shoot more people wrongly than non-cops.

Cops have no duty to protect you, you are responsible for that, here's one of many cases the SCOTUS has ruled on regarding that: http://www.nytimes.com/2005/06/28/po.../28scotus.html

Keep the violence out of low violence states.
Some of the safest states have the least restrictive gun laws...VT and Maine for example...it's pretty common sense and basic: a criminal doesn't generally want to die and prefers unarmed, defenseless victims, not armed victims who might shoot them.

It's also stupid to assume the cops will be there in 2 or 3 minutes, for all you know they could be on the other side of the city tending to another crime they feel is more important than you. Cops can't be everywhere at one time.
