You mean in the black don't you. In the red means you are losing money. I don't know if any government agency that actually makes money other than through taxes.

Simple:

Bribes to Congressmen/Congresswomen.

A corporate media (it always comes back to Akre v Fox News) which gives ALL the coverage to the 15% of paid Brown Shirts (see: Dick Armey and Freedom Works, a K-Street lobbying group that's funneled millions to the astroturfing) and ignores the majority.

AND (blame where blame is due):

A Corporatist President who ran as a Progressive (remember when he said, "Health Care was a right."??) and stands for the interests of business and not the people.

In short:

Plutocracy.

Well, look at Medicare and Medicaid - in the red. Do you have any examples of cost estimates by the congress that have beaten expectations and come in under cost?

Can you name any government run "business" that comes in under budget and is well run?

Take the initial creation of Medicare - the cost turned out to be nine times what was estimated.

Sorry, but without the outrage and protests from the American people, it would be business as usual.

I have absolutely no idea. I do know that I have been in the construction business and I have never seen one large project come in under budget.

Not "it", them:

See in Cost/Benefit Analysis, the main problem is that the costs are usually known, the benefits not.

So..........:

1. Removal of Lead from Gasoline.

2. Social Secutity.

2. Medicare/Medicaid.

4. Regulation of Pollution/Radiation emmitting facilities.

5. Voting Act of 1965 and 2005 extension.

6. Fed Block Grants; worked so well, Ronnie Reagan discontinued them. (Hurting GOP)

7. GI Bill.

I can go on.

Citations for above (yep, you're gonna have to read):

"Deadly Deceit" (book)( I can get the authors' names if you need them.)

"The Power Game" By Hedrick Smith

"America" Alistair Cooke.

"The Great U-Turn" by Barry Bluestein and Bennett Harrison.

Now, back to the REAL issue:

If the corporate media reports are true, I am yet to be convinced, then it is incumbent upon the lagest Caucus in the Democratic Party- the Progressives- to killl what jive does come out of the Senate.

Then, the Progressives should comence a program (much as was done in 1967 with LBJ) to get Obama, the Corporatist who ran as a Progressive, not to seek a second term, so that we can have a re-do of the 2008 election, and get a candidate who will govern on the platform which he/she ran upon.

Imagine that!

Some will say this is dangerous- the GOP will benefit.

However, if you liook at their numbers, they are not going up.

In fact, they are still on the decline.

I've never even seen one of our home improvement projects come in under budget. They usually end up costing twice as much as we estimated.
