SIGNS??? Huh? Let's look at this movie one more time:

Aliens: Let's invade and conquer a new planet.

Humans: Oh no!

Aliens: By the way, water is fatal to us.

Humans: They are coming! They are killing us! We don't have any defense!

Aliens: OOPS! Earth is 3/5ths water. DUH! What was I thinking???? Some guy threw a glass of water on us! Arggghhhh! We die!

Humans: We Win!

Blech!!!!

Just another nail in the coffin of Global Warming Hysteria.

Well said.

Twice.

The aliens are used as a device for religious redemption. The idea is that "a higher power" is giving Mel Gibson's character signs that help save both him and the world.

Again, too bad that the whole thing is resolved by splashing water - apparently holy water - on the bad guys and is sufficient to eliminate all evil. Again, a ridiculous allegory about Catholicism. Which is not surprising, given Gibson's history.

Same thing, different labels looking for the right one, the right label that will genertate the msot support.

BTW, hows the Ozone doing?
Global Warming just means that the earth is warming. No sane person should deny this.

Climate Change is a larger concept that assumes Global Warming but is also includes predictions about weather patterns and its impact on food production and animal life.

Again, nothing here is man-made. Global warming would be happening with or without us. It has happened before and it will happen again. The difference this time around is that we are releasing millions of years worth of stored carbon into the atmosphere in a relatively short period of time. We are accelerating the natural process and we will be exaggerating the damage. You can see this from the sharp upturn of this warming period relative to the upswing from the Medieval Period.

I'll tell you this much, whenever a climate change denier uses Al Gore in his argument, its clear they have little to no scientific understanding of climate change and have turned a scientific issue into a political one, courtesy of the rightwing echo chamber
Didn't the lefty lunatics on the Nobel Prize committee award Gore for his tireless efforts and scientific acumen on this very topic?

Maybe it had to be "Holy Water." I never understood that movie and I am Catholic so not making fun of it. Put your tin foil hats on. LOL

Global Warming is Big Business no-a-days. Therefor, anything promoting man-made global warming theories must be held in suspicion.

Also, please feel free to show where a wide range of recorded tempuratures exist for the medieval warming period. Thanks.
