Turned a climate change from scientific to a political one? You mean like what government has been trying to do? Like what Al Gore try to do? Like what you advocate for? haha... funny...
Actually, your post illustrates the ignorance of the climate change denial crowd.
I'll tell you this much, whenever a climate change denier uses Al Gore in his argument, its clear they have little to no scientific understanding of climate change and have turned a scientific issue into a political one, courtesy of the rightwing echo chamber
It's almost as if the OP didn't even start this thread. Oh wait, he did!
Oh no, I gtg, the gulf of Mexico is warmer and a hurricane might hit me here in Houston. Time to build an ark!
I'll never forget when I watched "An inconvenient truth", trying to be open minded about the subject. Bussed in liberals from Chapel Hill and Durham on the hippie juice (aka veggie oil diesel) bus, someone with the t-shirt in Arabic and English saying "We will not be quiet" and someone else marching to the front giving an anti-Bush spiel just before the movie. Suffice to say, that movie as well as the drama that preceded it were all too convincing on just what a cult and how little real science exists in this tin foil hat conspiracy theory.
They most assuredly are smarter than the vast majority of climate change skeptics, most who have no scientific backgrounds
Lots of fundamentalist Christians have advanced degrees in theology (Th.D.) but you dismiss pretty much everything they have to say. Seems to me like you're picking and choosing your standards as fits the occasion.

I believe Global Warming exists, but a tropical storm does not proving Global warming make.
Now, if it was like a Category 6 Hurricane (I know this doesn't exist, just saying) then you might have a point. Tropical storms may become more intense because of Global Warming, but they've always existed, and they always will.
Better proof is the northwest passage opening up, Glaciers melting, midwest droughts, and increasingly changing and intensifying weather.
Hmm, why do you think it was named the Northwest passage and not the Northwest impenetrable barrier?
Maybe for the same reason Vikings named Greenland "Greenland". See, it really was green, as in no ice.
There are few people who claim there isn't a "climate change" occuring.
We do, after all, live on a dynamic, living planet, a planet with her own cyclic patterns of climate.
However, there are plenty of sane, rational people who remain unconvinced that the human race is the cause of this rather natural phenomina, the "global warming" that lefties USED to call "climate change".
And we remain thoroughly unconvinced that any form of "Cap and Trade" system is going to "Save the Planet".
I fully support and endorse rational environmental protection legislation, but please, let's keep it sane? Running about like Chicken Little only serves to destroy the message of environmental protection and conservation.
I just can't figure out that wily Al Gore - first he invents the Internet, then he invents Global Warming/destructive weather. A true Renaissance Man, for sure.

Why do you think he flies everywhere?
Gota pump those tons of garbage into the air, after all.
