Not Obama but on the NYS people who thought just "giving" $200 to people for each kid for school those people would actually spend it on school clothes/supplies. Turns out they didn't and are now looking for the free school supplies.

Both George Bush and President Obama approved stimulus packages. Neither stimulus helped the economy. The US Government borrowed the money from China on both occasions. Any money that ended up in our pockets was either saved or used to buy stuff that was made in China. Gee, I wonder whose economy was stimulated here?

As far as the school supply thing goes. Instead of giving these people extra money to buy things that are made in China, why not give out $200 Staples, Office Depot, or Office Max gift cards. This way at least they would have been more likely to spend the money on school supplies.

This would clearly upset the Left's voting base.

You obviously have no experience with the really poor.

Could you provide some documentation of this?

Most of the stuff would still come from China.

This clearly indicates that individuals cannot be trusted to spend money given to them from the government wisely.

Of course anyone who agrees with that statement must logically be against tax cuts as well.
