that is strange, my 1st stimulus check was signed by george bush, why are we hating on mr obama?
Not Obama but on the NYS people who thought just "giving" $200 to people for each kid for school those people would actually spend it on school clothes/supplies. Turns out they didn't and are now looking for the free school supplies.

Both George Bush and President Obama approved stimulus packages. Neither stimulus helped the economy. The US Government borrowed the money from China on both occasions. Any money that ended up in our pockets was either saved or used to buy stuff that was made in China. Gee, I wonder whose economy was stimulated here?
As far as the school supply thing goes. Instead of giving these people extra money to buy things that are made in China, why not give out $200 Staples, Office Depot, or Office Max gift cards. This way at least they would have been more likely to spend the money on school supplies.

This is a rallying cry, the rich need to have their taxes raised even more. Sometimes it takes events like these to point out the utter poverty and despair of the poor - these poor people didn't have big screen TVs!!!
You obviously have no experience with the really poor.

Could you provide some documentation of this?

This clearly indicates that individuals cannot be trusted to spend money given to them from the government wisely.
Of course anyone who agrees with that statement must logically be against tax cuts as well.
