Court papers were filed today by the Obama administration to end the 1996 DOMA claiming it discriminates against gays. Although the Justice department must defend any challenges to federal statutes whether they agree with them or not, Obama has pledged his support to repeal the act. The gay community supported Obama in the presidential election and has become increasingly critical of Obama lack of support in abolishing DOMA.

Put a nail in the coffins of Democrats nationwide in 2010/2012 if DOMA is repealed anytime soon. Between the stimulus, buying banks and car manufacturers, controversial healthcare reform, and gay marriage, American's are suffering from "liberal fatigue." It's brewing. Recent protests are proof of that. The 2010/2012 elections will be less about ideology and more about stopping a runaway locomotive. Wait and see what happens.

Were you sleeping through 2008?

The country spoke up loud and clear; 69,456,897 to 59,934,814 in favor of the policies Barack Obama ran on, one of which was repealing DOMA.
