We'll have to be careful in discussing programs like this. History has shown that, when you make silly jokes about what Democrats would do, it's usually not long before it comes true, and we find Democrats actually doing it!

Cash for Codgers

Democrats, realizing the huge success of the President's "Cash For Clunkers" rebate program, have revamped a major portion of their National Health Care Plan.

President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and Sen. Reed are expected to make this major announcement at a joint news conference later this week. I have obtained a advanced copy of the proposal which is named....

CASH FOR CODGERS and it works like this...

Couples wishing to access health care funds in order to pay for the delivery of a child will be required to turn in one old person for each child they conceive. The amount the government grants them will be fixed according to a sliding scale....

Reminds me of an episode from One Step Beyond, I think. Might work for zero-population growth for a particular race or ethnicity. Isn't China the leading indicator of birth control, and even selective birth control? A problem arises, though: Let's say a codger is traded in for a baby. The codger is nullified, and then baby is terminated before birth, either naturally or selectively. Would the codger's family be entitled to compensation for a wrongful nullification, or just told to get over it, live with it?

I don't think it'll work, anyway, too many people want to die of natural circumstances, not nullification.

Now if when a codger dies of natural causes, or from causes not of nullification, then a baby could be granted to a couple or a single mother, and the process might work. I suppose it could be a problem of the codger lives beyond his/her projected lifespan, you know, something in the genes?

Well that piece is little bit overboard but if 30 years ago you said that states would be banning smoking in private establishmnets where the owner had no choice in the matter you would have been told you were off your rocker too.

Yeah? Point to a single example.

Your silly joke thread is based on a lie being spread by the extremist right faction of the conservative wing of our country, including the GOP leadership. Instead of a lame insult to Dems, perhaps you should be objecting to the lies and deceptions of your side.

That is, if you're a person of integrity...

Funny, very funny! I'm living with far less fear than in years past.

Funny part is, I've no problem with euthanasia of citizens past a certain age.
