Can you blame him when every ignorant conservative with two brain cells (actually that's the maximum nowadays) attacks anything gay? It appears that if a gay man stays in the closet, he does damage to his family. If he comes out of the closet, he does damage to society. Either way he is damned.

I'm not excusing anything he did to his state or his family, but I think the situation calls for a little empathy despite the higher standard we hold our elected officials to. And on that subject, preachers should be held to even higher standards.

Hear, hear!

Religion and trust are incompatible concepts.

Not my so called religious leaders. Liberal progressive churches are in it for the money and the indoctrination. Why else would they approve of homosexuals and gay ministers?

I have my faults but I would never sit in a church that would approve of them. What would be the point? You go to church to be closer to God and try to overcome your failings.

Wow, so being gay is a failing and gay people are farther away from God. Interesting. I thought going to church was to know more about God in order to be more like God: forgiving, tolerant, loving, etc. So, in your church, you gotta fit certain standards or you're ostracized, ridiculed, ignored like bastard stepchildren, unworthy of love and acceptance. I'm sure your God approves of this, though, right?

Yes, that pretty much sums up citigirl's church and her god, mhouse.

I think she goes to the same church as Betty Bowers.

I blame him because he used his orientation as a ruse to direct attention from the corruption of his administration. I don't really believe the NJ electorate gave a rat's behind if he was gay/straight nor was it a reason for resignation, I think it was the easy 'out', pun intended. to avoid further exposure of corruption.

You may want to go back and read your Bible. I think you are missing some parts.

That was my take exactly. You'll never convince me that he resigned because he's gay. You could convince me that he resigned because someone had some indictable dirt on him and forced him to either resign or be dragged through the mud. Being gay was the only thing he could think of to justify his resignation.

I'm not Christian and never will be, but I will suggest you go back and re-read it because you're missing the parts that talk about unconditional love.
