Well hmmm...... let me think...... Ya know what? I stand corrected!
Let them have a taste of their own medicine and then finish them. Child molesters are absolutely the lowest of the low. No matter how hard you try to understand, it just impedes all reasoning.

I don't see how saying which one is worse really proves anything. They're all examples of complete soullessness and evil.

Child molestation for some reason has always been a crime that sends people up the wall more so than other equally henious acts. For example, whenever there is a case of some guy looking at kiddie porn, everyone rolls out the gulliontine. But, when you hear stories of kids being beaten, kicked, burned w/ cigarettes, starved, dumped in trash cans, no one blinks an eye. I see no difference between the two. I would be just as quick to put a child abuser in ol sparky as a child molester.

Murder and Theft is another thing that gets me. I hate theft, I'd go Islamic law on those *******s if I could (cut off hands/limbs), same w/ murder. But we here in America idolize such people. I just don't get it.

My thought is that many murders occur between adults, and adults are presumed more capable of defending themselves against an attack, whereas children have neither the mental or physical strength to do so.
Perhaps this could be the reason?

No, I don't believe every target/victim is able to defend themselves at such unexpected situation.

I think that says enough, if even the worst members of society don't like it, I think that makes it the worst.

Agree totally. Sometimes murder is in self defense, accident(manslaughter), or sometimes a crime of passion. I dont see how anyone can rape or molest anyone in self defense or on accident. Also children are innocent.

to take someone's life is pretty much the most heinous thing I could think of.

Being the life lover that I am.

How is a child any more innocent than say, women who are systematically gang-raped in war zones (think Darfur or Bosnia), or an elderly sick man who is tied up and beaten to death by a group of men who are robbing him (this happened not too long ago in my state)? Aren't all victims equally innocent, and all crimes equally henious?

To me ( my opinion), child molesters and rapists are the lowest of the low. However, there are some that seem to think that those that commit such crimes deserve sympathy instead of society's condemnation.

Some see child molestation as "more of a foolish mistake than an act that deserves the level of condemnation that some have for it."

What does CD think?
The worse in my opinion AND according to the Law , is Murder. You cant get worse than taking the life of another innocent human being because it demonstrates a total disregard for the sanctity of life . It should always come with the Perpetrator surrendering his/her life as just punishment . While child molesting is horrific, at least the victim still has their life ahead of them...albiet often with emotional harm caused from the crime.

Your choices all pale into insignificance compared to mistreating your dog.

I had to go with child molestation, murder running a tad behind, but close to dead even. Murder is a pretty base crime, even when planned, and usually only involves one victim, serial killers being the exception and their crimes are generally sexually motivated in some way. Molesters are belly slithering, slimy, predatory arthropods, seeking different victims constantly, and the worst of them kill their victims as well. Those victims being the most innocent and helpless of us. It's a tough call, and all the listed crimes deserve harsh punishment. Tall tree and a short rope being at the top of the list. I had to lean toward the molesters being the worst of the lot, because, as it has been said, even the low lifes in the joint, draw the line with with this breed of Goblin.

I would murder anyone who molested my child...Molestation is a kind of murder - While we hear these feel good stories of people over coming it like Ophra, a majority suffer in silence for the rest of their lives. We can't asked murdered people how they feel, or if they are worse off. I would think most every child ever molested would say they are worse off for the deed.
