I caught a clip on the tv news about Fiat making their cars in Mexico.
Fiat brags about having had developed green/fuel efficient Diesel (?) (of all things), then having had sold the tech to Mercedes and Volkswagen which is now in 20% of the European cars.
Now, they say that they have developed yet another fuel-efficient engine called Multiair. It is really great because it reduces 10% harmful emissions! oh wow!
They are assembling in Mexico (?), but will they be able to sell such a car to the US with only 10% reduction?
California is pol-lu-ted! The nearest customer won't be in the market for THIS kind of "new" technology, that is for sure.
And Mexico...who has money in Mexico to buy a car?
Belly up Chrysler...you might need US gov help a bit more.
I don't understand the negativity. The Multiair engine is 25% more fuel efficient, produces less emissions, is more powerful, and has better low RPM torque than comparable conventional engines.
Mexico has a big established car industry, producing cars for Latin America, and parts and assembly for the US & Canadian markets. Lots of people in Mexico have money for cars. Look at all the traffic jams.
