Aug. 22 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama is likely in September to end Democratic efforts
to work with Republicans on health-care legislation and press for a party-line vote if the stalemate
on the issue in the U.S. Senate persists, a person close to the White House said.

The president and his advisers have started devising a strategy to pass a measure by relying only
on the Democratic majority in each house of Congress, said the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

If Pelosi tells him that's how it's going to be I'm sure he'll agree.

If it's not going to be national health care, just forget it. All these other programs being floated are corporate welfare bills, just like Medicare Plan D. Crumbs for the people, windfalls for the corporations.

Anything other than a socialist, statist takeover of private business and our economy would be a problem for you, eh? You just want the government to take over the means of production and save the poor proletariat, huh?

Obama talked all through last summer's campaign about bi-partisan legislation and then he acted like he still felt that way last weekend as if he was ready to drop public option but by Monday the Representatives who are far left had indicated that they would vote against it without public option and he backed out immediately and that indicates to me that he will be willing to count any RINO votes he gets as Republican votes.

They are going to pass something but only with Democrat votes and then the next fall they may pay through the nose at the elections. I can't wait for the day when they try, even in the Senate, to pass this crap. If the Blue Dogs in the House forget whatever Nancy promised them to get their support she is in trouble too. I think that if they pass this thing without Republicans Obama is a lame duck for over three years.

You are right.
If Obama has the courage of his convictions and does not bow down to the corporate strongarm tactics he will regain his credibilty and show he is not just another puppet of Wall street.

I think he should, after all obama and the dems will own it and he doesn't need one republican vote to rahm it through. All he needs to do is get his party in line and vote against the will of the American people, who have shown their disapproval for obamacare.

Man up, champ and grow some big hairy ones.

Medicare - broke
Social Security - Broke
USPS - broke
Clunkers - broke
Stimulus - a bust

Please, can one of the lefties explain to me WHY they think the government is capable of running a "business" efficiently and within budget?
