[quote=rayneinspain;10417981]Abortion is no more an act of murder than if a woman has acupuncture, acupressure, or reflexology to induce a miscarriage.
A woman who does not wish to continue a pregnancy will find a way, regardless of the preposterous legislative steps thrown in front of her.
This is yet another stupid, sexist law (like the ultrasounds in OK) that assumes a woman is not intelligent enough to know what it is she wants.
Yeah, so why confuse her with facts and images that communicate the true ramifications of her actions?

Why do you insist women be nothing more than servant cattle of men???
I don't view women as the servant cattle of men. I think women who are not ready to become pregnant should keep their legs closed. No birth control method is 100% effective. An innocent baby should not have to suffer because of the irresponsibility of the woman and man who chose to sleep together without regards to consequences.
What I'm going to say is going to make a lot of people very angry. But since those on the other side of this cause feel free to call names and throw accusations around as "their truth", I am going to say my truth.
If a woman does not feel able or willing to raise a child I would never hold it against her. If she gives the person life and allows someone who does want to raise a child the opportunity to nurture it then, in my mind, that is a caring, unselfish thing to do. But the idea that a few months out of a woman's life is too much to sacrifice for 80 years of life for a child is so selfish that I truly can't even imagine anyong being that self-absorbed. If a person is willing to kill their own flesh and blood baby because it will save them some discomfort then I sure would not want to have to depend on that person if the chips were down and I needed to be able to trust them to come through in a crisis. I would expect a woman that killed her own baby to be the kind of person who would always take the easy way out no matter who it hurt and I would never trust them.
Which of course is one of the downsides of the practice of abortion. Possibly one of the leading causes of depression after said procedure.
In any case it saddens me to see that the abortion debate eventually deteriorated to arguing (stupidly) as to whether or not a fetus is indeed a human life. We all know it is, no sense it hiding that fact in order to justify your side of the arguement. Although, you would be hard pressed to find a woman seeking an abortion that did not know the procedure terminated another human life, which makes this judge's decision rather pointless.
And while I personally do not agree with abortions, having abortion clinics with trained professionals sure beats the backalley coathanger routine. Which is why, despite the rather controversial nature of the procedure, abortion should always remain legal. So long as public funds are not used in large quantities for abortions, it makes no difference to me. Although, it does not quite seem fair for whichever father has to pay child support for the next 18 years after a decision he had absolutely no part in if the mother does indeed go on with the pregnancy... A topic for a different day..

And that is all I have to say about that.
I agree with most of your post. But young men need to know that there can be unintended consequences.
Since when is killing an innocent life considered "responsible"?
An abortion is a responsible act if the woman
1. does not want to risk her life or health by sustaining a pregnancy and giving birth
2. does not want to raise a child
3. does not have the financial means to support a child
4. does not want to be a surrogate mother for someone else.

Comments in bold.
I knew you weren't too honest before but if you can't make a point without FALSELY QUOTING ME....then YOU LOSE!

What a load of crap!
Women who have abortions do so for reasons that are compelling for THEM - what YOU think, believe, desire, do, don't do - has absolutely no import in the life of anyone but yourself. Your proclamations re women who have had abortions are self-righteous and arrogant. Must be nice way up there on that high horse....
I truly believe that future generation will look back at abortion with the same horror that we now look back on things like slavery, forcing children to work in coal mines, taking Native American children away from their families to send them away to "white man" schools, saying that only white male land owners have the right to vote, doing experiments on unknowing people as though they are guinee pigs, etc. etc. They will read about it in history books and say; "you mean they use to kill their babies and it was legal?"
