David Letterman defended the president last night over what the Baltimore Sun jokingly refers to as "Hot-Flat-and-Crowded-gate." The president's staff recently released his summer reading list which included "Hot, Flat, and Crowded," a book he has already read. Dave took the opportunity to cut the president's detractors off at the knees by making one of his favorite targets the butt of the joke.
Letterman, one of the best interviewers on TV (Leno used to be good at it too), likes to poke fun at stuffed shirts/loud mouths/bullies like Limbaugh. Limbaugh was on his show only the one time (that I recall) and Dave showed him up for the fool that he is. Dave did the same to O'Reilly as well, but O'Reilly is a man and he came back on. In a duel of wits Dave can handle any of these azz-hats.
While Obama is kicking back reading I'll be at work.
I agree. The guy is not even funny, as he has a quick temper and is easily "offended", like most liberals. Lenno and Carson were funny. I don't care what he says about conservative talk radio, as I never listen to it. It is boring to me, just like Letterman. He needs some new writers.
Wow, I think Obama left one off of his reading list.
If Obama has time to actually read this much literature on his vacation, maybe he should have left a few off the list in favor of actually reading H.R.3200. It is only just over a thousand pages, so he will only have to skip like two of the books on his list. Seems like that is the sort of "summer reading" our president should be doing. He isn't on summer break from high school here.
PS. But, atleast he reads. I somehow doubt Mr. Bush found much time for that sort of frivilous activity.
You should have heard letterman rip into Obama last night on his monologue. I heard an audio of it this afternoon on the radio. He was ripping the UHC plan to pieces as well as the deficit. Of course, I did a search on that monologue and can't find a shred of it on youtube or anywhere. It's probably been censored by the media. If I find it I'll post it right away.
