1/2 of my family is in Poland and according to them, 75% of the residents do NOT want these missles. It is FAR more dangerous for them to be there than not. Anyway, cannot speak for the Czech Republic but according to my family in Poland, they do NOT want them.

There is no reason to do this now, what happens now. There is no upside to this. Now Russia thinks it has the upper hand and we pander to another nation. I'm all for diplomacy but this is a walk in the opposite direction. There is no reason to scrap this idea especially when the two sides already agreed and then Obama gets elected and says to hell with it we are scrapping the Missile defense system.

Good for Obama! That agreement was bad anyway.

Ehm - actually, Hitler placed massive military forces in Poland and Czechoslovakia. Admittedly, it was over the locals' forceful objections.
In this modern context, Poland had to be bribed to accept the missile defense system.

With these folks, Obama is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.
You see, the real problem is that Obama is still black. If he could just figure a way out of that one . . . .

Well, that pretty much lays it on the line, doesn't it?

The purchase of more F22's...you know, the 'other' thing people complained about him backing out of.

I'm not surprised, foreign policy was a major reason I didn't support him. I expect him to "slow roll" Georgia and Ukraine admission into NATO discussions too.

Sorry, but our launch capabilities go far beyond the sites you named (especially forward launch platforms like submarines or surface warships) The US along with China proved that we can take out satellites so if the Russians are 'picking' off ours, what do you think we'd be doing to theirs?
