Default Will the Main Stream Media ever Ask Hard questions and demand answers?

Everybody [MOD CUT/language] about Fox news and right wing radio host, has it ever occurred to anyone that if the Main Stream Media would ask hard questions and demand answers then people would tune in. But as long as the only ones asking questions is the Fox news and right wing radio.

Until you ask questions even of your friends about what the hell is going on then the average person will go to the reporters that do get some answers or at least ask the question each of us are asking ourselves.

Besides being in bed politically with this administration, a lot of newspapers are hoping for a bailout from Washington.

Many of the TV stations are owned by big companies like GE (NBC), whose CEO, Jeffery Immelt is on the board of the NY Fed, and under Obama is on the Presidents Economic Recovery Advisory Board. Also, GE was the largest user of a government program to guarantee debt. Cozy, eh?

I'm shocked Jake Tapper at ABC hasn't been spanked by bosses for harassing Robert Gibbs, but wait till the fighting gets worse in Afghanistan, they will probably ship him out as a war corresepondent on the front lines.

Since Faux News is #1, that makes it "the Main Stream Media".

I dont know if they ask hard questions or not. I know they dont encourage their viewers to find out information for themselves.

None of our MSM in the US asks hard questions. Our "news" has become a reality based entertainment vehicle. See the outrage, watch the whining.

The above applies equally to both sides. A thorough reaming of any us politician in the British manner wouldn't fly here - it'd be perceived as too harsh.

Honestly, The Daily Show has more honesty in its reporting then any of the MSM news shows.

No, they are just the highest rated network. They do not make up the "mainstream media" That label falls on all of our major news outlets.

And as for encouraging viewers to go out and investigate on their own, I don't believe I have ever seen a broadcast where I was encouraged to follow up on my own and find what I could. I believe most of the time, they say "Stay tuned, for continuing coverage!" In other words, keep watching, and we'll tell you what to believe.

The MSM is very lazy. They choose a storyline and report everything in light of that. That mode of reporting started in Reagan's day, and has gotten worse ever since. Now the highest honor a reporter can be awarded is "talking head" status inside the beltway - and you don't get there unless you report the standard line. Anyone who deviates is "shrill."

It peaked during the Bush Administration, but it continues today. The only difference is that the stakes (and mistakes) were much worse under Bush. So the failures of the MSM were much more significant then. Things have gotten better since Obama took over, but the MSM is still not doing its job.

Remember CBS asking Mrs. Palin basic "getting to know you" questions during the campaign -- they were simple nothing questions but her fans think she was tortured without mercy.

But then CBS had edited out a foot-in-mouth moment for John McCain earlier, so....

MSM will not allow any hard questions asked of this adminstration.

They know ObamaScare will take them down if they do.

MSM is in ObamaScares hip pocket and are pushing his socialist agenda.

Our pending health care program is going to attack reporters who ask hard questions?

Are you flipping nuts? Seriously - you need help.
