There are 2 sides here. Those who can't get someone and are devients with low self esteem (performers and viewers of porn) and those who can get someone who are good quality individuals with class and self respect and high self esteem (people who don't engage in or use porn). I much prefer to be in the latter group, but banning it might be violating the 1st amendment.

Porn in general, no. A war on child pornography and snuff films I'm totally in favor of. The problem is that some of these child pornographers are located in countries where the US government can't touch them. If you come across a child porn site or group then copy the link and send it to the FBI.

If no one was against childporn, then it would be mainstream, acceptable.

I am against childporn, only because ya'll are.

Hollywood seems to have accepted child molestors as long as they have talent. They honored one at one of their award shows. He wasn't there to accept the honor because he's still hiding out in France because he'd be arrested as soon as he set foot on American soil.

I have NOT been programmed, I am not even christian, no church or supposed god dictates how I feel about things...these are my opinions as a woman.

The reality is that my sexual needs don't govern my behavior unlike MOST men out there...men like this are closer to animals then people.

I have NO desire to change your mind...why would I care what you do? I only stated how I feel about it.

I hope someday you mature enough to know the difference between having morals and being programmed.
Wow.

I am a woman too and totally disagree with your rash generalisation here.

Most men are animals? I'd be a single mom too if I had such broad disdain for men I suppose.

I think it's rather worrisome that you are on the internet offering specious claims about pornography and psychology when it's pretty clear you've got your own issues. Namely with men. It's that obvious.

Me and my boyfriend occasionally watch porn together... we've been in a loving relationship for nearly 6 years, in which we have lived together for 3. We both have pretty high self esteem and are very happy with our relationship... we don't need porn at all, but sometimes it's fun.

Porn will never be banned, there will always be a market for it. People need to get off their high horse and realize that not everyone thinks the same, and that just because you think something is bad doesn't mean we should all ban it.

If we are to limit that freedom, then we are to limit all others and freedom becomes a subjective influence of the majority. I do not agree with the industry and "personally" would prefer it did not exist, but I do not believe we have the right to infringe on it.

That said, I think we do have a right to object and limit it when it concerns the display of it in the public's eye. More specifically, I do not think it should be freely open to the public and that there should be some barriers to which allows people to avoid it by choice.

In terms of the internet, while public, it is something that I do not think should be regulated as people have to take the initiative to purchase the connection and be a part of it.

What I do suggest is clearly identified realms (sub nets) where those can be regulated be it through government or private stipulations where people can go and expect a certain level of public behavior or information without fear of being accosted by various immoral displays. That is the one factor with the current internet and its lack of regulation, it is that someone can honestly stumble upon something without knowledge and in a purely innocent manner even when they make efforts to avoid it. This can be avoided with the above as I explained. This way, no regulation is needed overall. People can then still choose to go there and those who display their content can choose to participate if they operate within the policy.

Look. Porn can fixate a person through the pleasure center of the brain. Variety, availability and whatever guilty fantasy one has is reinforced through brain chemicals. Being rewarded by sexual gradification is secondary only to meth. Anyone remember how addictive that is?

What is a wife or lover when a person's pleasure center only needs the drug? When one's guy prefers the ease and pleasure of his hand and relations actually fail in real life? When does it become a problem? When it interfers with one's life and relationships. I can't compete with porn, 18 yos, hot youth doing it all. I am just a 45 yo woman in a 1 year old relationship gone scary. Those that are unsatisfied or needing the fix of porn will succumb. Most will try to make it real. Rough sex with their partner, porn positions that are only worth doing for lots of money or they will look outside the relationship.

I have come to despise cable TV, sex and nudity in film and most of all the internet. Tell me, where are the young, hot men shown for woman? The movies are all dumpy guys with hot, young girls, or worst of all, old men with young girls. Big money alright! Leading to cosmetic surgery, age creams, eyelash extensions, boob jobs and NOW, revirgining! Oh, yeah. Divorce, children of divorce, eating disorders....
Sounds like life is changing for you.

I do not support any regulation of the internet what so ever. It has worked out just fine. Free market ideas are giving parents better solutions to monitoring activity. If that does work be a PARENT AND WATCH your children. The government has no business in what I do at home, watch on TV or watch or listen to on the radio or on the internet. Porn or no porn, Free speech and freedom belong to everyone no matter how disgusting some of you might think it is. I see all this new laws in other countries for regulation of the internet and it is the typical nanny state socialist facist ideas in AMERICA people try to run away from. First it's porn followed by taxes, followed by political messages and monitoring everyones active connections. Then creating a black market, and criminal activity and bigger government to monitor PORN!!!! So they will pay a large group of people to monitor chats, and emails and media files of your grand kids to make sure it;s not porn. GIVE it break people be an adult if you see porn on the internet dont use the internet. The internet is not a right and you dont need it to survive. But the internet might be an option to not the brainwashed by the mainstream media. Another example of this we have idiots on washington who dont even have a computer or even use one and or the internet now making laws about the internet.
