Default The ACLU

Where I stopped liking them?

They supported "bubble laws" that prohibit anti-abortion protestors from picketing within a certain distance of abortion clinics.

While I strongly support legal abortion, I don't support any restriction whatsoever on citizens of the United States to protest anything, anywhere, anytime.

The fact that they take such a stand while defending boy molesters and Nazis' "rights" is purely appalling.

Let me guess. You aren't a very tolerant person are you?

The question and topic of this should remain to consenting adults material.I doubt anybody here supports Nambla and such.

Again, let local cities and such make their own laws about it,that way people can have the type of communities they want and keep the Federal government out of it.

Really it seems to me though that as long as someone is not subjected to something I dont think they should interfere with what goes on in someones house in private.I have read news reports many times in Ft Lauderdale for instance where cops raided people's homes becuse they were conducting certain "partys" or raided swinger clubs.

Yes, but there are limits.

The City of San Francisco allows "NAMBLA" to hold public meetings in the library. At the same time, they forbid the Boy Scouts of America from doing pro bono work in the schools, because they refuse to accept people who are openly gay as Scoutmasters.

This is not liberty. It is license, a la Weimar Republic license. Local self determination has its limitations, as a Gov. Faubus once had to be instructed, via the bayonet points of the 101st Airborne.

If it is devient, San Francisco embraces it. If it is good and has moral values San Franciso rejects it. Nothing new here.

Hugo R. Black would not even watch the porn movies...he did not even have to look at them to declare them protected. This is a man whose strongest epithet, even in the absence of ladies, was 'crook.'

Default Absolutely not

No, I don't think porn should be illegalized or eliminated. Of course it is protected free speech -- but even if it weren't -- it should be left alone. Nearly all males look at porn of one sort or another -- and it harms no one.

Kind thoughts,

Reyn

Now, cleary pornography doesn't cause killing, but it does desensitize people to the value of humanity (especially women... why isn't NOW going after this?).

Not only this, but it's a major contributing factor to the rise of pedophilia. Then again, I'm also opposed to legalizing marijuana for the same reason. Not everyone that uses it goes on to using more addictive and destructive drugs, but it leads the way to it.

As a side note, I believe the only reason marijuana isn't legal as because the federal government would have a tough time taxing it, considering one could just about grow it in their back yards.
