Default Demi Moore's 2008 "I Pledge" video shown in a school, RW sheep prodded into fresh frenzy

Just setting the record straight for all you poor fish in the right wing media's barrel.

It was a BS celebrity video made by Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher; it was a gift to Obama.

IOW Obama had nothing to do with it. A school showed it and a local right wing org went berserk and sent stuff about "pledging to Obama, shown to the children!" to the RW media, and that's why you all are crazed now.

Dated January 19, 2009: Celebrity-Packed Pledge For Obama (VIDEO)

"Reflecting Barack's call for change, the film features over 50 of the biggest stars in Hollywood revealing how they plan to personally participate in keeping America strong, proud and green. The clip will be presented to our new President during his inaugural celebration."

If you're afraid of HuffPo, here's newsbusters, dated Jan. 20:

You are FREAKING OUT over a campaign commercial from LAST YEAR, and the fact that ONE PERSON made the stupid mistake of showing it at a school.

Furthermore, all this insistence by certain posters that anyone who voted for Obama has become brainwashed (while those posters continue to post outrageous conspiracy theories and assorted trolling threads) would do well to evaluate their own mental state. Seeing threats, hidden messages, and boogeymen at every turn is NOT healthy.

I've said the Pledge of Allegiance, as have my husband, my children, and the rest of our liberal/democrat/independent families...even so, I'm hard-pressed to be completely proud of this country at the moment with so much hatred and unpatriotic horses**t being spewed by so many.
Interesting..but when Bush was at the center of these attacks..it was patriotic to criticise and spew garbage..interesting...and even if you were not a spewer..did you ever speak up against it??? You know ignorance to the fact that this guy is a radical socialist..is just the way Germany fell..with people like you defending him and saying that we are all just being paranoid...aint gonna work this time...coz were gonna get him and his cronies out...and take back our Country

I work with the duly elected leader of the republic, political party is irrelevant and the two are not exclusionary.

So many people just hate him and make up such crazy crap. I love how people are pulling their kids out of school because "Obama" said kids should be educated (damnportlanders: Politics again). The irrational hatred needs to stop, it's pretty easy to see at this point it's not a difference in opinion anymore but a deep seated hatred about what some one is (one of those pesky -ism's).

I certainly DID.

I worked alongside many Democrats and a few Republicans during his administration, and listened to quite a bit of the Dems wishing someone would "take him out". I found their hate speech just as offensive as I found Bush's tactics...they were told in no uncertain terms that I would not tolerate it. Bush was my President, like it or not.

Blind hate is offensive, no matter who is expressing it and no matter who is in office. Just my opinion.

And I'm sure you would have had no trouble with a video encouraging people to pledge themselves to Bush being shown to school kids?

I don't want a video encouraging kids to pledge to anyone being shown. I think Reagan was wrong for talking about his tax plans to a high school in 85.

GHB's speech to kids in 91 was fine. And if Obama keeps his speech limited to the encouragement of kids to stay in school and work hard, I will have no problem with his speech.

But videos like the "I pledge" video, or Al Gorebal's Inconvenient Truth have NO place in public schools.

The founders would never have endorsed that message. Therefore, I must kindly refuse.
