The violence that is generally alluded to WILL happen because it's in the back of everyone's minds. Whenever people talk about things getting bad, they picture a situation where there is killing in the streets, people fight over what food is left, and the law becomes meaningless. People proudly proclaim that they trust in their guns and that anybody who comes a-knockin' will get a face full of lead. What these people don't quite get is that that kind of thinking will ultimately manifest that exact reality.

Does anyone think that when things really turn sour, we will realize we are all in the same boat? That other Americans are not the bad guys? Will we learn the obvious lesson that in order to survive we have to work together? Or will there be forty million dead before the proverbial light bulb goes off?

Take a country that has people who proudly proclaim their "strength" will be backed up by guns, take a country with a majority of people who don't know where food comes from, take a country that allows itself to believe whatever comes from the media or pulpit, and you have a recipe for disaster....unless someone somewhere realizes that the future this combination of factors would predictably create IS ONLY ONE POSSIBILITY FROM A LIST OF THOUSANDS.

I'm hoping that when it does happen, and it will happen in the next three years, we will be mature enough to realize that if our expectations fall short of our desires, we can still change course. WE are the ones in charge, not the subhumans who induced us to kill each other for their benefit.

More like 1850. Threats of secession but not actual secession yet, most being interested in preventing violence. Back then compromise held off secession but pushed it back to when the president (Lincoln) had no qualms about killing 600,000+ people to hold onto power whereas with another person the war could have been prevented.

If any of you actually understood Civil War history, you would not be saying this inane crap about having another Civil War.

There has been civil unrest in this country with fighting in the streets. Watts Riots, LA Riots, Boston Riots, DC riots - to name a few. Riots have typically broken out after incidences in which the black community said they were responding to police brutality. In addition, riots broke out after Martin Luther King was assassinated.

This is different. We actually have secession being tossed around, states passing laws rejecting the feds, and over half the country despising the federal government. This isn't localized rioting or such, this is across the nation unless things cool down.

How long is it before we get full scale widespread violent conflict in this country? Political battles unseen in America, but yet common in other parts of the world?
Who knows and who cares? Not me. In fact I am starting to think that the rest of the United States would be better off if we had never had a civil war. Let the south go. Don't need them. Maybe all the cons can move to 3 states- Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas- and they can form a country of their own. That way we can be happy and they can be happy too. We are really better off without each other. Hell, I will even toss in Kansas to them if it will help!

LMAO, you ain't gettin' my state. Least ways not the part from about Beatty on north. You Libs are welcome to CA and the Vegas area. Any Vegas types that lean right will come north with us anyway. You ain't gonna get WV, AL, VT, NH , MT, WY,the Dakotas, OR, or WA either, and I don't care what color any state was after the last election, that does not mean those states are 'liberal. NV is a prime example. LMAO< I don't care what ANYONE says, NV is NOT a 'liberal' state. Especially here in the northern half. The north is primarily rural, sparsely populated towns and valleys. Large population centers are spread hundreds of miles apart. This state is not a glowing bastion of progressive liberal thinking and lifestyles. Harry Reid(who is OUT ,finally, in 2010) notwithstanding. If you want to seperate, OK, we get south of the Mason/Dixon and west of the Rocky's (minus CA) and you get the rest Minus WV, I like that sate.

I have come to believe war is exactly what the higher powers of this country want. What better way to subdue the population than to let them kill each other while they watch. And that is where this is leading. Instead of arguing on behalf of the nation, we only bicker amongst each other based on what our political affiliation is. And all the while, the elected government can sit back and laugh, knowing this contrived conflict will never affect them either way, since the parties are at their core, one and the same. And that is why we should avoid armed conflict at all costs. War will not bring the end either side desires. And when the ashes settle, I gaurantee the government that takes power will be much more oppressive than anything an American born citizen has ever encountered.

The States would no doubt be far better off if Lincoln was not successful in staging his Federal Coup. Ever since that crime the States have merely been subjects to Federal tyranny. Civil War simply marked the end of a mutual agreement among states which had a Federal Republic and began the era of slave states working on the plantation of the Federal Regime.

As to another civil war. Nah. People will pout and complain, as I too am guilty of, but we are all paupers at the foot of the Great Extortionist waiting for the next benevolent handout from our master.

One realistic possiblity of the much needed overthrow of this Socialist State for the sake of human freedom would be if people were forced to overthrow it or die. If the Chinese or the Rothschilds were to say call in the debt at once, our money would be worth as much as grains of sand. The ensuing shortages and chaos could trigger the War for Freedom. However, as long as we can sit hear, chat on the internet, and are not starving it probably will not happen.

Another possible, but less likely, scenario would be another Waco or Ruby Ridge type confrontation with Jack-Booted Godvernment thugs that truly taps into the hard-core's already justified fears. If several Murrahs went down because of extreme people, perhaps the less extreme would see the moment of possiblity that that didn't with a single incident.

Alas, I really believe that we will simply be another China in the world by the time our grandchildren are grown. We are the proverbial frogs in the boiling water. By the time we would actually have the courage to stand up to the Godvernment it will already be too late.

Fine with me. I lived in Kansas and loved it there - the South will be glad to take Kansas along with us, LOL.

But no, we wouldn't be moving a damn place. My family (both sides) settled NC in the 1700s and fought in the Revolutionary War and the Civil War and despite all the carpetbaggers that have migrated here in the decades since - this is our land and our state - so no, we are not giving up our state sovereignty b/c the Feds would want to rip off our land for the second time.

We will take Kansas, tho . . . and I would like to put in a request for Missouri, also.
