1. I don't support the health insurance bill he's trying to push through.
2. I think he should end the wars.
3. I want the Defense of Marriage Act ended.
4. I want gays to be able to serve openly in the military.
5. I want a number of policies and practices started by Bush & Company ended.
BTW, I have posted more than once that I think the Dems have no balls and that they have sold out to Big Business.
Is that enough for you?
I guess we can agree to agree. I have a big problem with both parties. As someone said, there is a huge disconnect between those inside the beltway and most of America.
I can't be alone here? I can't take the stupidity anymore. Birthers, Deathers, Socialism, Commies, Facism, Birth Certificates, Muslim, Gun Rights, "I can't let my kids watch the President speak about setting goals and staying in school" loons, and the list goes on, ad nauseam.
I guess what I am most upset about is how Democrats get so derailed from accomplishing anything because we are so afraid of doing anything without the approval of Republicans (god forbid we grow a set). Republicans have had control for so long and have not managed to do one thing, not one, for the middle class. Is there anyone else that feels as disgusted as I do?
Go to democraticunderground.
They don't let anybody stray from the progressive plantation.
For the last 223 posts we've heard from the right, left, middle and a few that defy description. We agree on a lot of things, but some of the hot button issues are polarizing. Here is my question:
Is it possible for Americans just like you and me, who are moderate and temperate in their thinking, to compromise long enough to shape a workable solution. Um, without finger pointing and name calling, that is? This is America. I think we can. I think we have enough education and common sense and patience to do any thing if we stick together. .

What say you?
I'm willing to compromise if the right is! I can be pretty moderate, but it is the far right that pushes me even farther to the left, if that makes sense. I think we could all come toward the middle a little!

The problem is that the debate is dominated by extremists and, on here, they are mainly conservative extremists. I consider myself to be a moderate Republican but, the more I hear, the more sympathy I have for Obama (although, not all of his policies). Elections are won by the moderates switching sides, so, I think we should have a lot more power than we seem to at the moment. The solutions are out there but no-one is listening.

The problem is with the two party system, liberals and conservatives, officially called Democrats and Republicans. They've been disagreeing and compromising on so many issues for so long a time that the lines, the issues have become blurred, the voters being the losers. Otherwise there wouldn't be this division among the moderates.
The solution is simple but continuously rejected and nearly legislated out of possibility. Consider only 10% on the House composed of Libertarians, taken proportionately from each party. Fewer Libertarians than one per state would change the discourse in DC. The WHOLE thing should be about compromise but with the current blurred lines of cooperation, against the divisiveness of the extremes, Congress has become a house divided against itself and as 'what's his name' said, will not stand.
I stand with Libertarians, not as a form of government administration but as a negotiating point. Through compromise, Libertarians can reel in big government libs, which should be a conservative's job. Through compromise, Libertarians can reel in the puritanism (ech!) of the right.
Blue Dog dems are a good start, if they don't give in to pressure. Now maybe we need some pink cats... or some such tag on the right to balance.

And yet you forgot to mention the biggest nuts of all, the 9/11 Truthers.
