That choice of wording really stood out to me.
Coupled with recent C-D statements pining for 'tradition' and 'the way things used to be'...derogatory name-calling of our President, the First Lady, and others...and accusing complete strangers of being 'commies', while also applauding McCarthyism, the 'Red Menace' statement makes me wonder:
Are some people simply missing the Cold War...no, the entire world as it stood before the 60's?
The world was indeed a very isolated, fearful, and paranoid place then.
Why on earth do so many people appear to want a return to it?
If indeed they wax nostalgic over that era, perhaps they should remember that it was also the norm to be particularly patriotic and supportive (or at the very least, respectful) of the POTUS.
I highly doubt there would have been this kind of ignorant outrage over a POTUS' speech to American children about their education back then.

says the guy who couldn't find anything bad to say about the released speech (except that the previous version that no one saw was objectionable) until a blog told him what was wrong with it.

Good point. It makes as much sense, if not more, as the criticism that I'm reading.

Yes actually it does have to do w/the choices they make now & in the future. How you can have a problem w/talking about being responsible for the environment & social justice, I have no idea.
