Gabmer you would definately lose that bet. You can not reason with folks who do not read or those who just need a reason to justify this type of behavior. Remember the whole Terrorist hoopla during the campaign.
The speech that you read or heard, was not the speech that was originally to be given, which was rewritten because of public outcry. It was very politically motivated.
But of course you don't believe that because leftists will never believe the truth, and secondly, the MSM doesn't report most of the news, so it's likely you did not even hear that it had been changed. That's why Fox is number one. They report the news. The MSM wasn't covering the Van Jones flap either.
Hmm, someone wasn't paying attention. The issue was the included lesson plan that was to be used in conjunction with the speech (the speech hadn't been made public yet).
That lesson plan asked children questions like "What is the president asking me to do?" and "What specific job is he asking me to do?"
Of course, we don't know what was in the original speech and likely never will, but it doesn't matter because he had it handed to him by the American public once again.
Since the it hit the fan a couple days ago, the lesson plan has been changed to not include those inappropriate and overstepping questions. We raise our children serve their Creator and give their loyalty to their country, communities, friends and families, not presidents.
For any president to assume he may "ask" children to serve him in any fashion is wildly inappropriate and, more to the point, indicates he doesn't understand his role in our society or the constitutional limits on his office.
Excellent points.
I had thought that I had heard that some details about the content of the original speach had been released? I could be wrong. But you are right; the lesson/exercise that went along with it was very politically motivated, aimed at pushing students to write about how they could help Obama advance his agenda. That is what the flap was all about.
Don't either of you question things or do you just blindly follow?
The Obamites blindly follow. This is why none of them ask any questions about the people Obama is putting in place as "Czars" (who are really running the government) and looking into the backgrounds of these people. They weren't concerned at all about Van Jones. They had no clue who he was, and didn't care.

Its a sad day for america when someone like Robert Byrd questions the "czars", but most Democrats just blindly follow the old, "Obama said" thought process..
I guess maybe its a good day, Robert Byrd is questioning Democratic actions..

Chuckle....nothing like changing the subject so the stink, and ignorance, stupidity, screaming and mewling and puking over an educational pep talk will fade away.....NOPE, I think we should keep this thread going to remind everyone of how foolish repubs can be...kinda like the Palin threads
The speech that you read or heard, was not the speech that was originally to be given, which was rewritten because of public outcry. Provide a link to the original speech or statement from the administration that it was re-written because of the outcry. Of course there were drafts and re-drafts of the speech, but was NOT released because it was not ready. It was very politically motivated.

Fake Fox news can not provide ANYTHING but their bias suggestion that there was an original speech, which as usual they can not provide and the mindless continue to follow suit.
In a set of bullet points listed under a heading, "Extension of the Speech," one of the points used to say: "Write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president. These would be collected and redistributed at an appropriate later date by the teacher to make students accountable to their goals."
However, that bullet point now reads as follows: "Write letters to themselves about how they can achieve their short‐term and long‐term education goals. These would be collected and redistributed at an appropriate later date by the teacher to make students accountable to their goals."
They look like two very different assignments, for two very different speeches, it appears obvious that they changed the speech. I don't know, but it appears that the first assignment was for a speech about 0bama and some pet agenda item, and the second revised assignment looks to be for a speech about the children and their education.
