Any decent military has plans on the books for any contingency. Suppose Canada was taken over by evil Commies, etc.
Who would have thought we would have to invade Iceland and Greenland in June 1940, but we did

Actually I would be very surprised if they had not had a plain for such an event. It is their job to plan for any threat no matter how slight the chance.
Pearl Harbor happened because our Politicians completely under estimated Japans resolve and abilities. They also over estimated our own abilities.

When I look at history, I'm really glad some people lost the reins of politics at certain junctures. I guess it's common to worry that those people have had a firm grip on the reins in the present.

FDR was president in 1935. He was responsible for more deaths world wide than any president before or after him. He was a good man.

Nothing to see here, that's what they do at the war college. I wouldn't be surprised if they had plans for invading the US.

I would like to see the Chinese war plans for the conquest of Asia north of the Himalaya Mountains and east of the Urals. I would also like to see the Russian army's plans to stop them. I think this will be the location of WW3 or at least the start.

Interesting, I dont think it would be the start, but on further thought, I could see it being a big part, and probably quick rout of the Russians, as far as a future WW is concerned.
The natural resources, and the sparse population inhabiting the area would be an enticing cake walk for the Chinese. As long as nuclear weapons could be kept out of the equation.
