Just as he was short on details with other aspects of obamacare, do you really think he would go into detail about how much the government will fine you if you don't get HC?
Of course not.
Baucus has a plan for $3800-4000 for those unwilling to buy insurance.
What do you think he means when he says you will be required to get insurance?
If you don't, you will be penalized.
Can you stick to the facts please instead of inserting what you THINK he may or may not have said?
[b][color=Blue]This isn't going to go over well, methinks R Rep Joe Wilson is going to be in deep poo poo, even with the GOP...
Not with this Republican. Enough was enough. BS'ing the nation like that... lie after distortion after bullc**p. I don't blame the man one bit, I couldn't take it either.
Of course the MSM will have it's hissy fit and all you nitwits who loved seeing someone throw a shoe at Bush will decry the coarsening of American politics.
H.R. 3200: Sec 246 — NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS
" Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States."
"The preceding section reiterates this, stating that “the term ‘affordable credit eligible individual’ means … an individual who is lawfully present in a State in the United States.â€
Anyone home? Illegal aliens dont need to have insurance to be covered by the bill when ALL americans will be picking up the tab because hospitals have NO CHOICE but to pass their bills onto the insurance/public option..
The fact that they wont pay into a "plan" doesnt mean that we wont be picking up their tab because they STILL will receive treatment and we STILL will pay the bill..
Hell, I'd much prefer they did pay into the bill, if they are going to be receiving services, they should pay for it right? Isnt that the argument being used to make sure everyone has care? That those without care are making it expensive for those that do have it?
Bingo. The answer is to naturalize all illegals (except those who committed crimes other than crossing the border). Then you'll have a large pool of new taxpayers who'll contribute to the till.
pghquest - that is a good point. i didn't think about it that way. but if millions more people have insurance, those costs (which should go down as the number of people unable to pay for care decreases) will be divided many more times. again, what percentage of emergency room visits do you think are illegals, and why?
Yes, costs will go down, but the fact that Obama says illegals wont be paid for, it is indeed a flat out lie.. no insurance, true, govt/we wont pay for it.. a lie...
The percentages vary depending on the location of the country, and the primary reason why many poor and illegals use the ER is because of the 24 hour availability, and the fact that the law demands they be seen regardless of their ability to pay.
And if the plan does not deal with the reasons why costs are so high and rising fast, i.e. no one paying, then we're putting a bandaid on a temporary fix and will only have to come back later and deal with the illegal aliens and their care...
If your going to do it, do it right, not piece meal it together...
This will be the highlight clip - that is a good thing. People will know that obama is lying, or at the very least, do some research into the issue.
You mean people will see how low class the GOP has become. Even folks that disagree with Obama respect the office of the President and will see this Republican idiot as the clown that he is..
