There are so many gapping holes in the current system that any correction of this will save billions.
Obama also said he will cut back on other unnecessary spending if he has to so that money can be found for health reform. I think people are missunderstandin what Obama said. He said that not one Dollar will be increased in the defecit not that he will not find money to pay for healthcare. There are many, many areas today that are full of wasteful spending. If a new health system could plug those holes and create a better health system, we all win.
It's like when you stop smoking. The huge ampounts of money wasted on smoking can then be used to but things for a better lifestyle or pay important bills. This is the same thing.
Instead of a power grab by government via a "Health care reform" scam, let's see an alternative...
How about this:
UNIVERSAL health care means everyone can care for anyone
[] Decriminalize giving health care;
[] Decriminalize the trade and possession of medicine and equipment;
[] Expand opportunities for medical education;
[] Offer credentials by government supervised examination, regardless of where or how one learned medicine; and
[] Eliminate tort abuse with "Satisfaction guaranteed, or your money back!"
Last nights speech sounded great! How could anyone disagree with lower premiums, no denial of coverage and 100% coverage? But he did not mention one word about how to pay for it. He didn't even target the uber rich for tax hikes.
I think last nights speach was just another pie in the sky ramble without any specifics. Anybody can propose things, it's paying for them where they get into trouble. Government or business or our personal lives.
We pay for it now, through higher premiums, higher taxes, indigent care payments to hospitals, etc. Emergency room care is an expensive way to treat the poor, but that's how we do it today. That's pretty dumb. This is a plan to make the system more efficient.
Very simple, we would pay for this the same way we pay for Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
Why is that so hard to understand?
But aren't we told that all three of those are going broke?
That's why it's so hard to understand! Did that help you to understand?
