I majored in env. science. You're full of it. man-made GW is not what's causing anything substantial. It is the tilt of the Earth's axis and the oblonging of the orbit around the sun due to the Earth's wobble. That causes the warm and cold currents of the ocean to change location, in turn causing weather patterns and temperatures to change. It has been happening since the beginning of the planet and will continue to do so even if humans never existed. Why do you think that where there are deserts now, there used to be lush jungles and rainforests and vice versa. It take hundreds of thousands of years to complete a cycle. There is nothing at all that humans can do to change this natural behavior.

I've noticed a curious trend.
The alarmists claim to be defending science. They refer to how unscientific their opposition is. But they almost never actually rebut anything, almost never offer any actual science for their own "side". They keep making subjective claims, using anecdotal evidence, proclaiming an established conventional wisdom that need not be examined...in short, violating every scientific principle.
Meanwhile, the supposedly-unscientific skeptics keep offering more detailed arguments, rebutting whatever claims the alarmists actually offer. They tend to argue scientific validity, using established criteria, scientific realism, et cetera.
It's like how socialists took hold of the word "liberal", which means the opposite of everything they believe in...now these anti-science global warming types are hijacking "scientific", using it to mean the opposite of any valid scientific method or reasoning.

I'm just seeing this thread for the first time and notice that there are already 5 pages. I haven't read them yet, but don't need to in order to know what I'll find. The same progressive ideologues who spend their time screaming and waving signs on the streets in support of gay marriage will flip their signs to the global warming side and continue their perpetual attack on common sense from that angle at the same volume.

I agree. Gore proved the that creating a fear equals profits. This isn't the first time climate change has been used to fill people's pockets.

I just posted a follow-up to that, inspired in part by something I was saying in this thread:
4th Year of Global Cooling, NOAA Says « But Now You Know
NOAA has reported each of the last three years as "one of the ten warmest in history", but fails to mention that each has been colder than the last, according to their own data, in an accellerating downward trend. 2008 was the year coldest since 2000. Why spin the data to make it sound worse than it is?

I like how global warming was causing more and stronger hurricanes and is now preventing them.

How to prove someone is a witch:
Burn them...if they burn, God is punishing them for being a witch. If they don't burn, it's proof that they have magic powers and are a witch, so you hang 'em.
