WASHINGTON — President Obama’s speech on health care failed to bridge the gulf with Republicans, but Democrats said on Thursday that the president had largely succeeded in unifying his own party by making a cogent, persuasive pitch to the American public and by casting his plan to overhaul the health care system as a political and moral imperative.
Oh yes, I am more behind the President than before.
As far as the opposition, they are in their final throws. The GOP right now is like a cow right after its been shot between the eyes-lunging helplessly and lashing at an anything--but soon it wil be dead.
Conservatism will live on-as it should, but that bastardized political party they associated themselves with will not.
They are unified over the speech because they all shared the same experience of that tingle up their legs and felt they all had the same revelation. What sheep.
I believe there are still 30 or so good moderate democrats that don't buy his line of BS. Hopefully the people back in their home states will let their feelings be known.

The same familiar names appeared in that article. I'm surprised though that Pelosi is backing down. Must have had a revelation during that speech.
Before that she was adamant on her position of a public plan.
His speech was directed at the people who elected him. He already knew he'd get no help from the republicans and they demonstrated that quite well during the congressional address.
