News, Man cited for cursing in public under 1887 law.
WINONA, Minn. -A man was cited for cursing in public under a local law created back in 1887. Police said a 19-year-old man was cited Wednesday after he yelled obscenities at officers who had earlier given him a ticket for underage drinking.

Now that's pretty funny! Call me old fashioned, but I can't stand the way so many people nowadays have lost all sense of common decency & think it makes them look cool or tough to use 4 letter words,or yell out in public. Whatever happened to plain old manners?

I had this friend named Ben that could not say a sentence without throwing in an "f bomb", regardless of where he was or who was around him. It was really embarrassing and we finally called him on it. I can't stand public cursing; everyone that really cares about civility and public decorum, should agree with that.

My ex brother-in-law was like that, drove everyone CRAZY!! Personally I think people who overuse bad language are just immature, & have a very limited vocabulary. Don't know why they think it makes them look good, to me they just look ignorant & immature.

I totally agree. It's a shame that our nation has become coarser in the language. No common decency. Sheesh! My ears are not garbage cans and I'm sick of having people throw their verbal garbage in them.

I also had a friend in college who could not say a sentence without some 4-letter word in it. In a sense, I'm thankful that we drifted apart as I really did not wish to pick up her bad habit. I also once worked in a male-dominated office where everything was "F this." One day at home, I found myself beginning to say "F-this" when I got frustrated and I was appalled. I'm thankful I have left that job and the foul language behind.
