The Tea Parties are continuing to grow. There's talk about the Saturday before Election Day, Oct 31, 2009 being the next March on Congress.

Halloween! Are you kidding me? That'll fly about like the 4th of July protests. Not to mention, it's starting to get cold that time of year. Gonna have a hard time getting people out in the cold for a protest, when they could be home with their kids and grandkids on Halloween.

Good job, in my opinion. The American political process at it's finest. I'm not on board with the message so much as I agree with the process.
Well said.

search for the tag 912dc on flickr and there are lots more.

Default REAL DC Tea Party Photos (taken by ME)

[I personally took these photos at the Tea Party DC Rally. There were far more people behind me and behind the Tidal pools at the Capitol... See the first photo.http://www.city-data.com/forum/attac...1&d=1252868071http://www.city-data.com/forum/attac...1&d=1252867466

Oh, come on, ProudCapMarine, all the estimates from reputable news sources, including FOX say "tens of thousands". Anyone can make a Youtube video.

My number is approximately 2 million people. I attended the event. We were supposed to assemble at Freedom Plaza at 9:30 am.... but we went early to get a good spot.

At 8:30 am we passed DC police officers calling to their command center or dispatcher saying... "No Sir... No.Sir...you don't understand.... there are already 12,000 to 15,000 at Freedom Plaza THIS EARLY... and everywhere I look more are on the way.

The DC police were told to expect only 10,000 to attend.
The crowd completely filled the plaza directly in front of the Capitol building all the way out to the steps and statues beyond, Spilled over that onto the Capitol Mall... Completely covered that.... and extended around and way to either side of the reflecting pools, extended to the steps beyond the reflecting pools, filled those steps and beyond on either side, spilled past those steps and onto the grass field beyond the reflecting pools, completely covered those and extended beyond the street that runs along those grass fields, and reportedly extended back to the Washington monument.

At one poing ABC news was reported to estimate the crowd at 1.5 million. I would place it at closer to 2 million PEACEFUL.... Americans exercising their first Amendment rights.

So.... Mr. President.... We will see your 15,000 in Minnesota, and raise you 2 Million
