Sorry if this is a duplicate thread....but this just demonstrated to me again that Obama is a hypocrite and that we won't be leaving Iraq anytime soon.

The Raw Story » US actually increasing personnel in Iraq: More contractors, fewer troops (http://rawstory.com/blog/2009/09/us-replacing-iraq-troops-with-private-contractors/ - broken link)

I for one had no illusions of Obama leaving either Iraq or Afghanistan.

Add up the total number of soldiers and contractors killed and wounded and people are starting to think... Vietnam redux

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/19/wo...ntractors.html
Quote:
That brings the total number of contractors killed in Iraq to at least 917, along with more than 12,000 wounded in battle or injured on the job, according to government figures and dozens of interviews.
Not sure how reliable this site is since I have never heard of it, but feel free to tear it a new one if it isn't. ~ their calculation methods are listed on page~

Isn't it about time America privatized the military?

I'd prefer not to start wars of choice and opportunity in the first place. The cost of empire isn't cheap. If it were privatized, wouldn't tax payers still be paying for them?

Aside from the continuously growing casualty list, I'd be curious to see what it cost to keep a single soldier on a tour in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Obama is the worst kind... he attempts to deceive people with semantics... he furthers his goals and defends his failures with semantics...and the hardcore leftists always try to disseminate all this disinformation...
