No they can't handle opposing view in a civilized fashion. I bet if those cops weren't there they would have beaten this guy up just for peacefully expressing his wants.

SLCPUNK, thank you very much for validating my views and opinions of the majority of the tea party patriots.

Zero arrests.

Also, I would not attribute common sense to that guy. I think that he wanted to become a martyr. Too bad the "crazies" didn't stomp him into the ground so that the left could praise themselves some more

yeah, that's pretty embarrassing for the partiers. he is just silently walking with a sign, with a smile on his face, and everyone in sight is screaming at him and even grabbing at the sign, even with the police standing right there. apparently he got spit on too. lovely.

i thought it was the left who specialized in angry mobs and intolerance of others' opinions? or does the right get a free pass because they never pretended to be fair or peaceful?

if he did want to be a martyr, so what? does that excuse the actions of the people around him?

doesn't he have just as much of a right to express his opinion as they do? would you say the same thing about counter protesters at an iraq war protest? you seem to think it's inherently dangerous to go to this rally with a dissenting opinion (and his police escort and the vitriol of the people he encounters implies that this is so). why is that?

maybe the tea party folks could have invited the counter protester up on stage to say his piece, like iraq war protesters did at this protest in texas:

Teabaggers, what a bunch of hypocrites. If people would have opposed Bush/Cheney during the last 8 years like they are doing with Obama, they would have been called traitors, commies, pinkos, unpatriotic, etc. Oh, wait, they were (called that). As I said, what a bunch of hypocrites. Protesting is good only when it's something they want to protest about. Again, that word "hypocrite" keeps coming up over and over again. There should be a picture of a neo-con next to the word "hypocrite" in the dictionary.

Disgusting how they keep yelling, "boo, boo, boo" at the poor guy carrying the sign. So much negative energy being put out there; I agree, thank goodness the police were there to keep the nutcases from doing what they know best: being bullies.

It is beyond AMAZING how neo-cons can spin EVERYTHING to suit their selfish agendas. Sickening. How "American" - NOT!!!!!

C'mon really. This guy knew what he was doing. He was like a Klan member in full sheets walking into a Black Panther meeting. He has the right to speak his mind, but he definitely has no common sense.

Nice try but epic fail.......

Common sense you say? Such as letting the government run healthcare because they have such a great track record with running medicare, medicaid, social security, amtrak, the post office.....

again, how does that excuse people who are so opposed to a dissenting opinion being expressed that they react with violence & hate?

and to nip the inevitable in the bud, yeah i realize some on the left have done just that.

i will say though, that walking into an antiwar rally with a pro war sign is NOT like a klan member walking into a black panther meeting, as the video i posted above shows. the worst i've seen happen to counter protesters at anti war marches is they get chanted at (god i hate protest chants). i would hope that that would also be the case with saturday's protest, but apparently it is not.
