LOL...
Quote:
The White House has now conceded that Rep. Joe Wilson was exactly right when he accused President Obama of lying when Mr. Obama denied that illegal aliens would be covered under the government takeover of health care.

Wilson knew that every attempt to deny coverage to “undocumented immigrants” had been voted down by Democrats, and that there was no verification method or enforcement mechanism in place to keep them from getting taxpayer-subsidized health insurance.

Last night, the White House caved, releasing a statement saying that the administration is now backing a proposal that says, “Verification will be required when purchasing health insurance on the exchange,” and specifically mentions the SAVE program (Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements) that states currently use to make sure illegals don’t consume taxpayer-funded benefits that are reserved for legal residents.

Joe Wilson Voted For Taxpayer Health Care for Illegal Immigrants

In 2003, Wilson voted to provide federal funds for illegal immigrants’ healthcare. The vote came on the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003, which contained Sec. 1011 authorizing $250,000 annually between 2003 and 2008 for government reimbursements to hospitals who provide treatment for uninsured illegal immigrants. The program has been extended through 2009 and there is currently a bipartisan bill in Congress to make it permanent.

This fact has been posted before, so why are you pretending that you haven't seen it? Tsk, tsk!

Excellent!!

Just as they agreed with others that have pointed out some of the controversial language in the bill.

It's not a take over. It's a premium based public option.

What votes? When and where?

It is not subsidized. The proposal is an exchange (individuals pooling to get group rates) where consumers can buy premium based insurance from private companies or the public option.

Insurance bought in the exchange is not taxpayer funded - it's premium based. The latest proposal is an additional safeguard or attempt to prevent illegals from participating in the exchange but they can still buy non-exchange private insurance as they do now.

The White House tonight is providing the below clarification on what the president's health-care proposals would mean when it comes to the issue of illegal immigrants.

The question, as we all know, arises from the Wilson "You lie" outburst, and the core claim that notwithstanding specific bill language barring illegal immigrants from participating in the "exchange," as a practical matter, there is no way of verifying the citizenship of applicants -- which is the current state of play. Republicans say that then means illegal immigrants would end up being enrolled in plans -- bill language or no bill language.
The bill did not explicitly state that illegal immigrants would be covered, but the bill failed to require proof of citizenship. Now it does that.

Whoa...wait....hold the phone. You mean to tell me that this cat opposes health care reform on the possibility that illegals might get care - did he have a change of heart since 2003? Or is he just trying to score some political points?

Now C'Mon ... what's wrong with these people?

Surely it is known both far and wide that I strongly disapprove of Obama's policies, but even in the end, I'll respect him as The President of the United States.

But this stuff just keeps coming and coming, over and over ... wrong on unemployment, a new stimulus bubble, auto bailouts for companies that went bankrupt anyway, clunkers that cost us 3 billion bucks, acorn throwing around their legal advice to hookers, poorly selected communist czars, ... on and on and on ... and he isn't even through his first year yet.

What, on gods green earth has this guy been doing for the past 40 years?
Wasn't he supposed to have been some hotshot Senator from Chicago? Wasn't this guy supposed to have been educated at one of the finer schools in the nation?

Yet here he is, ducking and dodging every time something flies south on him ... surrounded by tired old worn out Clinton people from the last century ...

And to top it all off? ... The guy just refuses to quit campaigning.

Even his own party is showing some cracks over all of this stuff.

Back in the day, I thought Nixon was a hack ... I thought Carter was a hack ... but these days, the Obama Administration is making both Carter and Nixon out to be as pure as the driven snow on a cool winter morning.

All Obama has from me is my respect ... even this is wearing thin with all of what's been going on.
