"Tea Party" leader Mark Williams appeared on a CNN panel on "Anderson Cooper 360" last night and promptly set to work discrediting himself and his movement. Williams denounced those carrying blatantly racist signs against President Obama during the tea parties as "no more part of the mainstream of America than the hippies who wear nipple clips and feather boas in San Francisco streets during so-called peace demonstrations."
Cooper had done his homework, however, and caught Williams blatantly misrepresenting himself: "What you're saying makes sense to me here when I'm hearing what you say but then I read on your blog, you say, you call the President an Indonesian Muslim turned welfare thug and a racist in chief."
Williams shrugs and responds, "Yeah, that's the way he's behaving." An incredulous Cooper asks Williams if he really believes Obama is an Indonesian Muslim and a welfare thug. The tea party leader digs the hole a little deeper: "He's certainly acting like it. Until he embraces the whole country what else can I conclude."
They need to find work....Wait..they're complaining about the government not fixing the economy..
The same government they want less of!! Go figure...z
If they had jobs to go to, they wouldn't have all the time they have to complain...We all know the boss won't give them time off to bother big government...
Okay I just watched it and I think James Carville is underestimating the number of truly 'misguided' people in America.
This isn't really something to giggle about James...let's stomp their ideology flat and then move on.
What people don't understand is that the March on Washington had nothing to do with Birthers, TEA Party people, 9/12's, Republicans, Democrats or Lyndon Larouche. This is not a centrally organized effort, at least last Saturday wasn't. We who were there...at least most of the people I saw and / or spoke with, were just ordinary Americans..some with their baby's in strollers, some young, some old, mostly white..yes, but some black and hispanic too. So to try and identify us with a "leader" is disingenuous. So if we are going to have a conversation, why don't we have an honest conversation. We marched for all Americans..yes including you. Because I hate to break this to you, but whatever Obama puts into place someday will be in place when the Republicans take over again. Now..do you really want to give the Republicans all this power that Obama is trying to amass?? Think about it...
Can someone please explain to the recent over-usage of the word "thug" in regards to union supporters and social welfare supporters? Both generally seem the complete opposite of what I understand to be "thug". Do I just not know what "thug" means?
