FL TN, that is true we are called by God to do that, regardless of race, nationality, ethnicity which are secondary to our faith. it is also true of Jewish people as well.

if you are european(white) and your spouse is another race(black-originally from african background), (Asian or Oriental-from japan, china, korea, mongolia, india, pakistan, Middle eastern, Southeast Asia), (native American tribe-cherokee, choctaw, etc); or Latin America--Mexico, South America, Central America--and not of pure White European stock or pure African Stock---Then you are interracial.
It doesnt have anything to do with color--some of my family is very white skinned and you cant tell them from a European and some are very very dark skinned.

Why can we not be just American??? I have never been to Europe, have you been to Africa?

Wouldn't it be nice if everyone felt that way... but many don't, which makes it hard for some to forget their ethnicity. It's easy to say "who cares about skin color?", especially when yours doesn't often lead to racist comments or looks.

Yes, that's true... but so far my siblings & I aren't doing well at that, LOL. My sister's married to a non-Jew (Protestant/Agnostic?), my brother lives with a Filipina woman, and I've dated mostly non-White guys. It would be great to marry a Jew, just to lessen the conflicts/confusion, but I can't seem to find the right one.
To get back on topic, I guess there are a few definitions for "interracial", but it simply means 2 people of different RACES - not nationalities, as the others have pointed out. It can be any combination of races, but unless you're both totally of the same one, you'd qualify as interracial. Wish it didn't matter, and to me it doesn't, but I suppose it's still an issue for some. I should also mention that religious differences don't "count" either, since my sister & brother-in-law wouldn't be called interracial - seeing as they're both of European/White descent. They would be considered inter faith, which is not the same thing.

Negroid
Caucasiod
Mongoloid
Those are craniofacial anthropometry terms. They are not PC. Some will argue they are no longer accurate.
You can find many lists of many ways to classify race. I'm in an interracial marriage by any list or definitions you can find, and honestly it simply does not matter based on my experience.

Thanks caution. I assure you my reasons for asking weren't racially motivated. I have no problem with interracial marriages, relationships, etc. I'm really just looking for a definition, I guess, for lack of a better term. You are right, race does not matter, based on my experience as well.

cop, if you are born in America you are an American or if you have been naturalized. I am not sure what you mean. Sure I have been to africa but that isnt the topic.
It is the origins of where people came from, ancestorally, not where you personally were born.
I dont know another definition of Inter(between 2) and racial.
there is also: interreligious
intercultural
