I stand corrected. In that case, why only 8 years? Why such a low fine? Will he be labeled a sex offender? I certainly hope they've completely investigated this guy to ensure there aren't any victims here in the U.S

Yeah - I wondered that myself. Why only eight years? How is that even feasable as a just sentence for the crimes of rape?!
This is the type of story that pizzes me off no end - and also wishes for vigilante justice. After all, only a fool would believe that when this jerkbag is out in eight measly years that he won't rape again.

I have to guess that he is an immigrant who has recieved citizenship. After all, they didn't call Ted Bundy an 'English American' or Garrido 'Italian American'.
If it turns out he is an immigrant, then revoke his citizenship and send him back Russia.

Exactly...who's to say that this only occured outside of the U.S? And considering he's a millionaire, why only award the victims $5K each. His clock should have been cleaned. Why wasn't the U.S fine larger? This is one time the government really should have seized EVERYTHING. He should be made to pay $ for each and every day he's in jail.
