President Obama wants to legalize illegal aliens. How will that 12,000,000 impact voting power.

US Census Press Releases (http://www.census.gov/Press-Release/www/releases/archives/population/011910.html - broken link)

U.S. Hispanic Population Surpasses 45 Million

Now 15 Percent of Total
The nation’s Hispanic population increased 1.4 million to reach 45.5 million on July 1, 2007, or 15.1 percent of the estimated total U.S. population of 301.6 million.

National and state estimates by race, Hispanic origin, sex and age released today by the U.S. Census Bureau also show that the Hispanic population exceeded 500,000 in 16 states.

Hispanics remained the largest minority group, with blacks (single race or multiracial) second at 40.7 million in 2007. The black population exceeded 500,000 in 20 states. Blacks were the largest minority group in 24 states, compared with 20 states in which Hispanics were the largest minority group

Blacks were followed by Asians, who totaled 15.2 million; American Indians and Alaska Natives, who totaled 4.5 million; and Native Hawaiians and Other Pacific Islanders, with 1 million. The population of whites (single race and not of Hispanic origin) totaled 199.1 million (See Table 1 [Excel]).

With a 3.3 percent increase between July 1, 2006, and July 1, 2007, Hispanics were the fastest-growing minority group. Asians were the second fastest-growing minority group, with a 2.9 percent population increase during the period. The white population grew by 0.3 percent during the one-year period.

Overall, the nation’s minority population reached 102.5 million in 2007 — 34 percent of the total. California had a minority population of 20.9 million — 20 percent of the nation’s total, Texas had a minority population of 12.5 million — 12 percent of the U.S. total.

I'm convinced Republicans are crazy not trying harder to reach out to our Hispanic population. Quit fighting the idea, embrace it, bring them into the big tent. By marginalizing them you end up with generation after generation angry at the GOP.

IMHO this is the price tag of our horrendous abortion sin in America. The numbers are always about a 1-for-1 replacement. In fact if you look at a chart of Mexican immigration from 1980 to 2000, it peaked in 1990. 1990 is the year that all the kids aborted in 1973 and 1974 would have been entering the work force and doing the jobs at McDonalds.

Does anybody think the powers that be in Washington DC are not very well aware of this fact--even if it is never talked about? Do you think this has not been calculated in closed meetings and back room deals?

Ethnocentric politics at its finest ---- never mind what is best for the nation, lets see what is best for the party.

I don't think that applies to the black community. I have my doubts that will apply to the Mexican community either. I guess what I'm saying is I think most of them are going to vote democratic regardless. I think the OP is right--at LOT more dem votes.

President Obama wants to legalize illegal aliens. How will that 12,000,000 impact voting power? What party will they vote for if Obama legalizes them? Will Hispanic voters be his biggest Block of Voters and Supporters?

Obama has a history of throwing supporters he no longer needs under his speeding Socialist bus. Sometimes it is even his closest friends, advisors and even pastors.
Who will be next?

Default Obama will turn on his own country if it earned him more support in the WORLD'S VIEW.

I think Obama is capable of throwing African-American voters under his bus if it means a choice between them and a much larger Hispanic voting base. Look what Obama did to Rev. Wright and Van Jones.

What's that saying about the means as long as you win in the end.

I would not trust this man. Look how he supports Hugo Chavez against his nation. Obama will turn on his own country if it earned him more support in the WORLD'S VIEW.

I wonder of the 45 M hispanic population... how many can be directly accounted for by past Amnesty actions... and we are going to give more Amnesty? What next? More Amnesty for the next 12 M illegals to come here and more after that?

WOW, a LAUGHER of a thread starter, starts another thread that has a COMPLETE AND TOTAL LAUGH as its basis. Yet, if I were to write the PC Marine is a LAUGHER I'd get a three day suspension.

Time to go start a new thread, which I know will be pulled down in about 15 minutes; "Cheney is starting his own militia, using legal immigrants from Cuba, they're going to try to overthrow the Obama administration".

The above line has a lot more truth in it than the first line, repeated in his later reply from the HUGE LAUGHER PC Marine.
