I'm glad Obama dismissed Jimmy Carter's accusation that race plays a role in Obama's dislike/lack of success in getting his agenda across.

Obama showed that he's beyond all that BS where the race card is pulled at every time one does not get their way.

I am also glad that Obama dismissed this non-sense. While at it, I might also add, I think highly of Obama, but simply disagree with his stance on issues. No, I don't think he is Hitler, nazi, or communist. I just disagree with him. I wish this was the case with other conservatives and liberals. Why must we paint a negative picture of those we disagree with?

what does this have to do with Maryland? Why not take it to the Politics forum?

What moderators? This is one of the most un-moderated forums I visit on the web. ****-poor moderators, but I bet this one post gets "moderated".

Who the hell needs moderators when a civilized forum moderates itself? Great comments about Obama here.

I also agree President Obama handeled the race issue quite well. He's attempting to keep the discussion focused on the healthcare system, which is the right way to play it. Im glad he didnt give the individuals who want to feed the fire and distract the focus away from the real issues at hand an opportunity to do so.

I'm going to play devils advocate. I actually agree with some of Jimmy Carter's comments. Makes sense to me, however I look at it from an A.A. perspective. I'm sure the White House doesn't want to embrace President Carter's comments, only because we have had similiar talks with the whole Black Harvard professor debacle. Beside we have more important issues at this time to deal with. Would anybody on the house or congress totally disrespect the Bush by calling him a liar to his face? I don't think so. Hasn't been done. If anything people became restless with Bush during his last years in office.

I do believe that while now is not the time to take on this subject, it really needs to be talked about. Get it out there. Talk about it in an intellectual way. My mom raised me to believe that tackling issues is the best thing to do. It's like we walk around blind to the fact that we as americans have problems but refuse to face the problem. We need to at least talk about it and at least reach a middle point. You might not agree on the matter whole heartedly but at least you know where we stand.

I won't comment on the whole health care debate because I haven't really read up on the issue behind it yet.
