Although Moore does sometimes say things that are dissappointing and total BS. He is doing something great, he is actually CHALLENGING the fundamentals of this system.

We need more people, whether they are liberal or conservative to ask the broad questions that Moore is asking and challenge the system on a broad scale. I like guys like Moore and Alex Jones because they go a lot deeper than the others, and that's also why they get called crazy so often.

I am definitely more impressed with Michael Moore than Glen Beck, who seems to be the most popular right wing voice right now.
There are as many or even more loud mouth extremists on the left. It's just that if you're left wing, they don't seem that way. In many ways, the left doesn't even need to be that loud mouthed. They pretty much control most of the media outlets (TV & Print, maybe not talk radio) and the education system, esp. higher education.

I do agree that Alex Jones goes deeper than most (although I think some of the things Jones says are patently false, like the Federal Reserve being a private bank).

However, most of the analysis from Michael Moore is superficial and emotionally manipulative.

Um no. It's just that some of us can see that if we actually had a true free enterprise health care system, we would not have such a bloated and wasteful system like we do now. People think that's because of capitalism. More correctly, it's because of monopoly/oligopoly capitalism (not the same thing as a true free market).

That is why people can go to India or Costa Rica and get operations for a fraction of the cost of what it costs here. They operate on a CASH system. Sure, there is some labor cost savings in those countries, but add in travel and accommodations costs, and you've wiped out a lot of the labor cost advantage.

Did you know that plastic surgery costs go up at about the rate of inflation while overall health care inflation outstrips the general inflation rate year after year? I'll give you a clue. It's because plastic surgery isn't covered by insurance. It's a competitive market where people pay cash.

Of course, to get this kind of information you have to read beneath the headlines because it's usually buried deep in some article that isn't on the front pages. Most people don't do that.

I can rememebr WAY back when he had his short lived TV show. I watched it and thought that the shows format was sound and the profiles were interesting, but I got totally turned off by Michael Moore himself. He was fat, smug, arrogant and pompous and not friendly. As years went by he's gotten more bitter and hateful.
I guess he serves a purpose. We can look at ourselves and judge ourselves when we make mistakes, But that's become increasingly lost in his anti american beliefs and his chasing money. And would it kill him to actually praise America when we do the right thing? Probably.

From what I know about Beck and Moore I wouldn't compare those two. Maybe O'Reilly and Moore are more similar. What O'reilly is for the right, Moore is for the left.
From my somehow neutral perspective (I don't live in the US and do not watch your news, except of Fox news for my own research, because I read so much about it on CD), I think Moore does care about the USA, and that is why he wants to question everything.
At least he gets up and he does his research and checks some facts. Beck does not check facts. He even said that.

So I think that Moore is good for America, IF he gets people to question everything including the things he says in his movies. Like any other people or media, nobody should believe 100% of what he says.

Then by that same statement, Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly, Coulter, Beck, are also doing wonders for our country. So would Huffington, Maher, Nancy Grace and Olberman.

I mean without all of these polarizing figures we could be.........gasp.........willling to compromise! Who wants that?

I think he's just insignificant. To judge him good or bad means he's worth weighing in on. Do you think 100 years from now people will even know who he is?

oh heaven's, O'Reilly isn't nearly to the right the way Moore is to the left. There are a few that are, O'Reilly is not...
