I would not give it to Rio because of the security situation for tourists .... in other words, it can be quite dangerous.

As an aside: Doha, Qatar was in contention? HOLY CRAP! The hottest i've ever been in my life (outside of Iraq) was in Doha! Nothing like having an oven-hot wind blowing in your face all day long. Winds off the Gulf make it damn near impossible to stay outside for any length of time during the summer. I have pictures of a themometer at 126 Degrees in the shade! I couldn't imagine playing sports in that crap!
Whoa no doubt.... I spent a few months in the sand over there, sand in the crack, sand in your ears, your pits. You learn to hate sand fast. Add to that the heat.
As for Chicago. Hmmm seems like Chicago has more than a few problems controling the masses now let alone if we host the Olympics there.

I think the Doha bid proposed the games to be held in October, which makes more sense.

I'd say Rio. Can you imagine just how much a games in Chicago would cost, and how much the cost overruns (and kickbacks) would be?

Rio would be great.
Chicago? shudder to think about how much would be spent on bribes, kickbacks and contributions to the right party officials.

How much have we spent bribing the IOC already, just trying to bring it to Chicago?
