I am pro life and pro universal health care.

A pro life (supposedly) administration was in charge for 8 years and nothing changed about abortion
A pro health care reform administration is supposedly in charge now and it looks like the only thing that will change is that the insurance companies will get richer.

The Republicans will never resolve the abortion issue because they use it for campaign fund raising.
The Democrats will never resolve the health insurance issue because they use it for campaign fund raising.

The politicians play us all for suckers and get away with it because they keep us at one another's throats fighting about silly things that don't matter such as Bush's cocaine use when he was in college or Obama not being a citizen. By falling for this type of distraction they prevent the citizens from working together so that we could actually hold the politician's feet to the fire and force them to actually work for US and not for the special interest groups that line their pockets.

I fear you are right.

And, the conservative-dominated SCOTUS just might eliminate our 100-yr-old campaign finance structure, allowing even greater corporate "free speech" in our elections. They are ruminating on the anti-Hillary movie case right now.

Let's hope that there's at least one conservative with common sense on the Court (and that's becoming a really valid concern as the conservatives go deeper into the crazy with each passing day). Otherwise, we are screwed.

This is very telling of how females look at sex. Hey Peggy Ann, you don't EVER have to sleep with another man if you don't want to. We will survive. Population problem solved. Humanity ends. Yep, that's smart.

How about this. Females have the right to vote after they, and they alone, go win three world wars while we men stay home, raise our kids to think poorly of females and make new laws while we have the majority vote. What? Don't like that idea? Neither did we.

Your posting implies (by the use of "we") that you participated in these pre-conditions for voting. Did you really? If so, I applaud you for your accomplishments; it's not everyone who can legitimately claim to have been involved in winning one world war, let alone three.

That's the way the public felt about Obama and look what a mistake that was. They do NOT "HAVE to do better than the men have done." in fact they would do far worse. Can you imagine females EVER giving MEN the right to vote against them? Not in this universe.

What? Sorry, but women helped during these wars. My own mother was in the Navy. She may not have been on the front lines, but that was a man's decision, not hers. And women also went to work at home doing many of jobs the men did who left for war.

Who do you think kept this country running while the boys were fighting?

My mother was an Army nurse in the South Pacific. It wasn't like the Broadway play by a longshot. Her unit was getting ready to relocate to Japan when Truman dropped the bomb. About 30% of registered professional nurses served in WW II.
