Is there a certain number of deaths that need to attributed to an object before it is considered a "deadly weapon", i.e. 40 people over the last 15 years have been killed by a broom, so now a broom is a deadly weapon? Can someone cite an example of a weapon that couldn't be used to kill someone?

My understanding is that a deadly weapon is anything that in a court of law can be proved capable of killing a person. It is a fluid definition and is entirely based upon the circumstances with some notable exceptions, those weapons which have previously been determined to have been used in the course of a homicide.

Religion and the bible are the deadliest of all weapons.

Hundreds of millions have been killed due to religious warfare over the centuries, all of it a waste, killing over fictional differences.

Religion or State? Religion may be the biggest weapon of old, but the State is the biggest killer in the modern world.

Yes but aren't non-automatic assault brooms perfectly legal ? I have a concealed broom permit and carry a whisk broom in my pants at all times.

I have the cleanest floors in TX.

Could jello be used as a deadly weapon ? Marshmallows could (Chubby bunny). Nerf ball (shredded/choke someone). Phone book. Fly swatter. (metal part un wound) coat hanger. An obese body.

It's beginning to look as though it might be harder to define what isn't a deadly weapon.
