Do you believe those with Religion are typically happy and Atheists are typically unhappy? (death, programs)

Have yet to meet an Athiest who isn't hell bent on hating or trying to prove that anyone who "has" an EXCLUSIVE focus on any form/sect of Christianity is an idiot.
When Athiests open themselves up to the same hate toward Judaism, Islam, etc., then there may be a poll worth taking part in.

When the Athiests open themselves up to hating and running ragged on Judaism, Islam, etc. Then there may be a poll worth taking part in.
Until then, bite me.
Point taken. I see many people who are religious who are happy, many who are semi-religious who are happy, many who believe in some sort of spirit that are happy & then people like me who don't believe at all but I'm happy. I don't think having a religion is a guarantee to making you happy or vice versa. I know some would like to believe that but it's not true.
I've met some very cynical and bitter atheists. But on the other hand, I know some very grumpy and judgmental Christians. They are so worried about judging others that they forget to be nice.
I'm a happy person until someone starts talking to me about religion. I know many atheist/agnostics like this. The same tired discussions, beating the same dead horse into a slightly finer pulp... most christians aren't happy until you aren't happy.

I'm with you. Christians think atheists are grumpy but it's a self fulfilling prophesy. If a Christian and an atheist are talking about religion it's a pretty good bet that the Christian was the one to bring the subject up. An atheist would have no reason to randomly discuss their lack of faith while a Christian feels they have an active duty to God to talk about theirs and spread the "good news". So yup, atheists are often cranky around Christians. So are lot's of other people
I think there are fundamentalists on both sides. But about religious people being happier? I don't know, as I've never personally known any out and out atheists. I do get the impression (from reading forums) that most atheists don't like religious people though. Not saying that's the case, but that's my impression.
Not sure how to answer the question but I am a Christian. However, I'm not religious about anything except shaving every morning. A cool clean face makes me pretty happy I suppose.
