I agree, why does it matter? Either people have no problem with race mixing or they do. Either way, you getting upset about it won't help. It won't change their minds.

Is the baggage from its rabid Jim Crow past still so heavy in this day & age??
Print, cable and Hollywood simply won't touch the topic or even show a black guy kissing a white girl on screen (only sparingly). They'll even show 2 men kissing, but never the above mentioned.
Whats your opinion??

Whether people accept it or not, it's their right. As long as they are not harassing IR couples, why does it matter to you?

It may be their right to not agree, but no one should hate someone cause they fell in love with someone who is not the same race, that is just plain wrong and very cruel.

cowardly is the wrong word to use if you want honest feedback.
in a mixed race family and marriage myself, i see most of the acceptance or lack thereof begins with one's own attitude...

I seriously doubt that, I've heard plenty of black women say "I'm going to start dating white men" lol. I think it is not about racism, but more about people being scared about what their friends/family/etc might think of their relationship with another person of a different culture.

I'd hardly use the word cowardly. It's not deserved "en-mass".
I won't over trivialize it by saying people won't give a second look or make comments, but to use the word cowardly isn't fitting either.

Since I am only in my 20's the programs that I watch a lot of the times have interracial relationships. I think there may be some truth to your statement about the lack of interracial relationships in movies but I think Hollywood is making improvements. I don't think most people in America are really concerned with interracial relationships anymore. Of course some don't like it but who cares. I've been all over the Midwest and South and I have yet to go to a city or state and not see a interracial couple.

I know of a few black women who date white men, and alot of their friends, esp older ones, family and etc, do not like it, at all, they would prefer her to date only black men. As I known whites to not like white women dating black men too, seen it from both sides.
I also have a friend who used to live in a black community, she was white and married to a white man, they had four kids, they were not very welcomed in their neighborhood, people resented them living there, cause they were white. I am sure there are blacks who do live in mainly white areas who are treated just as rudely.
Prejudice is an equal opportunity sin.
