I think its actually a jealousy thing.I've been married to a black man for 20 years,since I was 17 years old. I have 5 children, I am attractive, well spoken, college educated and that's where most of the issues are.People need to worry about other things more important in this world and leave those of us that are content,Alone. -D

And I am reminded of the time my boyfriend told me about a black co-worker who had just gone to a Japanese import car show, admired the Asians models and expressed a desire to "get himself one of them". Sometimes it might, but not necessarily. There are probably many, many reasons for racism. I'm just pointing out that you can't just boil it down to one of a few possible causes. People like and dislike things for any number of reasons and belief systems have any number of root causes. Dismissively saying that someone can only be racist because of ignorance, insecurity, or fear (or any other single, negatively viewed cause), I think, is just a way to justify attacks on the target of the accusation and to avoid any real substantive argument.

People shouldn't let others decide who you should date. I'm black, and most of my girlfriends over the past few years have been Hispanic. I've never dated a white woman before, but there have been a few that I wanted to get to know a little better; I'm sure a few wanted to know me better, too. I don't care what people think about me and my significant other. If I like the person, and they like me, that is all that should matter.
